During discussion, Kyle Bilafer, Area Manager, <br />responded to questions from the Board. <br />Planning and Development - Request for Right -of -Way Abandonment on Overcash <br />Road <br />Lee Snuggs, E911 Addressing Coordinator, stated Cabarrus County staff has <br />received a request from a property owner at the end of Overcash Road that the <br />750 feet at the end of Overcash Road be abandoned. He advised the petitioner <br />is the only property served by the section of road where the right -of -way would <br />be abandoned. He explained the process for roadway abandonment requires a <br />resolution approved by the Board, followed by approval of the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and then final approval from the Board of <br />Commissioners. He also responded to questions from the Board. <br />BOC - Resolution Amending the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' Meeting <br />Schedule for Calendar Year 2016 <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board, stated the Board recently approved an <br />amended meeting schedule moving the August regular meeting to the Multipurpose <br />Room due to upcoming work in the BOC chambers. Since the amended schedule was <br />approved, she advised, that project timeline was forced out to a later date. <br />The attached resolution moves the August regular meeting back into the BOC <br />chambers with the project scheduled for the month of October instead. <br />In addition, she stated, the amended schedule also includes the joint <br />meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission on August 25. Due to time <br />constraints with the August meetings, she requested the Board suspend the Rules <br />of Procedures and adopt the resolution amending the meeting schedule. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board suspended its Rules of Procedures in order to <br />take action on this item due to time constraints. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Resolution Amending the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners' 2016 Meeting Schedule. <br />Resolution No. 2016 -09 <br />Resolution Amending the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' <br />2016 Meeting Schedule <br />Whereas, on December 14, 2015, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />adopted a meeting schedule for calendar year 2016, which sets forth the dates, <br />times and locations of various official county meetings; <br />Whereas, the Board of Commissioners' meeting room was scheduled for <br />renovations during the month of August and the venue for the Commissioners' <br />August regular meeting was changed to the Multipurpose Room; and <br />Whereas, the renovations have been rescheduled to October 2016 requiring <br />the Commissioners' October meeting to be moved to a different venue; and <br />Whereas, the Board desires to hold a joint meeting with the Cabarrus <br />Planning and Zoning Commission, at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in <br />the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center; <br />Now, therefore be it resolved, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />hereby amends its 2016 Meeting Schedule as follows: <br />1. The Board of Commissioners will hold the August 15, 2016 regular <br />meeting at 6;30 p.m. in the Commissioners' meeting room in the <br />Governmental Center. <br />2. The Board of Commissioners will hold a joint meeting at 6:00 <br />p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in the Multipurpose Room in <br />the Governmental Center. <br />3.
