September 19, 2016 (Regular Meeting) Page 2888 <br />UPON MOTION, of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed David Wall to the JCPC as the Chief <br />Court Counselor /Designee representative for a two -year term ending September <br />30, 2018; including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy. <br />(H -2) Appointments and Removals - Adult Care Home Coummunity Advisory Committee <br />Jack Boyer, Tara Smith and Walter Rumple, IV serve on the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee and have terms that expired on August 31. Mr. <br />Boyer is willing to serve another term on the committee. An exception to the <br />"length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for him, <br />since Mr. Boyer began serving on the Committee in 2009. <br />The Regional Ombudsman requests the removal of Ms. Smith from the roster, <br />a letter is attached to that effect. Due to family and work obligations, Mr. <br />Rumple is unable to serve another term and also requests to be removed from the <br />roster. <br />First appointed last fall, Diane Carlscn's term on the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee expires October 31 and she has already indicated <br />a willingness to serve another term. <br />Avie Banks has resigned from her position on the Adult Care Home Community <br />Advisory Committee due to family and work scheduling conflicts. The Regional <br />Ombudsman requests her name be removed from the roster. <br />UPON MOTION, of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Jack Boyer to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending August 31, 2019; <br />including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy. <br />UPON MOTION, of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Tara Smith from the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee roster due to failure to complete required <br />orientation; and to also removed Walter Rumple, IV and Avie Banks from the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked them for their <br />service. <br />UPON MOTION, of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Diane Carlson to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending October 31, 2019. <br />(H--3) Appointments - Human Services Advisory Board <br />The Human Services Advisory Board has received several applications and <br />would like to fill a vacancy on that board. <br />UPON MOTION, of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Anthony White to fill a vacancy on the <br />Human Services Advisory Board for a two -year term ending December 31, 2018. <br />(H -4) Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />An application to serve on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />has been received from Sandi Lane. She has been prequalified by the Regional <br />Ombudsman and is eligible to serve an initial one -year term. <br />UPON MOTION, of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Sandi Lane to the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for an initial one -year term ending September 30, <br />2017. <br />(H -5) AM ointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory <br />Council <br />Jerry Anne Phillips has resigned from her position on the Cabarrus County <br />Senior Centers Advisory Council. There is currently one other vacancy on this <br />Council. <br />Appointments are needed to complete unexpired terms ending December 31, <br />2016 and December 31, 2017. <br />
