September 19, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2889 <br />UPON MOTION, of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jerry Anne Phillips from the Cabarrus <br />County Senior Centers Advisory Council roster and thanked her for her service. <br />UPON MOTION, of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Thomas Dixon to the Cabarrus County <br />Senior Centers Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term ending December <br />31, 2016 including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy. <br />UPON MOTION, of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Myra Baumgardner to the Cabarrus <br />County Senior Centers Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term ending <br />December 31, 2017. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager -- Monthly New Development Report <br />The Board received the monthly new development report for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report <br />for August 2016 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary <br />for August 2016 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) EDC - August 2016 Monthly Summazy Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of August as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(1-4) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />The Board received the monthly financial update for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -5) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards/Committees <br />None. <br />(I -6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 4 Vacant Positions <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - I Vacant Position <br />• Human Services Advisory Board - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 7 Terms Expiring Soon and 2 Vacant <br />Positions (Student Under 18) <br />• Mt. Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - I Vacant Position <br />(Alternate) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Senior Centers Advisory Council - I Vacant Position <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Midland and Clergy) <br />• Youth Commission - 3 Expired Terms and 4 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) General Comments by Board Members <br />Commissioner Mynatt announced the Cabarrus County Education Foundation <br />will host its 15t' anniversary Luncheon on Wednesday, September 21st and also <br />thanked David Baxter, Channel 22 General Manager, for assisting with their video <br />and photography needs. <br />Vice Chairman Honeycutt congratulated Sheriff's Office participants on <br />their efforts at the Literacy Council Spelling Bee. <br />
