October 17, 2016 (Regular Meeting) (I -4) Finance - Monthly Financial Update Page 2939 The Board received the monthly financial update for informational purposes. No action was required of the Board. (I -5) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees Vice Chairman Honeycutt provided an overview of the SHIIP (Seniors Health Insurance Information Program) detailing the open enrollment dates and phone number (704 920 - 1400, option 7 then 2). (1 Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees Applications are being accepted for the following County Boards /Committees: • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position • Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee - 6 Terms Expiring Soon • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 3 Vacant Positions (Student Under 18 and Chief District Court JudgelDesignee) • Mt. Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - l Vacant Position (Alternate) • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions • Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Midland and Clergy) • Youth Commission - 3 Expired Terms and 4 Vacant Positions Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to consider participating on a Board or Committee. L) CLOSED SESSION (L -1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation, Acquisition of Real Estate and Personnel UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss matters related to pending litigation, acquisition of real estate and personnel as authorized by NCGS 143- 316.11(a)(3)(5) and (6). UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session. Return to Open Session UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board approved a four percent merit increase for the County Manager. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board declared the old Parks and Recreation building as surplus and initiated the process to sell the property.
