Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - 1 Vacant Position (Alternate) • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions • Senior Centers Advisory Council - 5 Terms Expiring Soon • Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Midland and Clergy) • Youth Commission - 3 Expired Terms and 4 Vacant Positions Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to consider participating on a Board or Committee. (J) General Comments by Board Members Chairman Morris commented on the Concord and Kannapolis Christmas Tree Lighting ceremonies and the Concord and Kannapolis Christmas parades. Chairman Morris recognized and introduced, Clay Maguire, Youth Commissioner representing Cannon High School, who was in attendance. County Manager Downs commented on the Christmas tree at Rotary Square, a joint project between the Concord Rotary Club, the City of Concord and Cabarrus County. (K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY None. (L) CLOSED SESSION (L-1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation, Economic Development and Acquisition of Real Estate UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss matters related to pending litigation, economic development and the acquisition of real estate as authorized by NCGS 143-318. 11 (a) (3) (4) and (5) . UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session. Return to Open Session UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board moved to order the Agricultural Advisory Board to call a special meeting to evaluate the validity of the agreement between the County and Mr. Paul Faggart and to determine any legal issues relating to the attempt by his heirs to withdraw from the enhanced agricultural district no later than Monday, November 28, 2016 before 5:00 p.m. UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board moved to approve the purchase of the Fennell property at the corner of Spring Street and Corban Avenue for $260, 000.00, all inclusive of any fees and payments due to his tenants and authorized the County Manager to execute the agreement subject to review and revision by the County Attorney.
