December 19, 2016 (Regular Meeting) Page 2979 <br /> (C) RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br /> (C-1) Presentation - Representative Linda Johnson <br /> On behalf of Governor Pat McCrory, Representative Linda Johnson, presented <br /> the Order of the Long Leaf Pine to Cabarrus County resident Betty Steen. <br /> Representative Johnson read a summary of Ms. Steen' s accomplishments which <br /> included years of teaching and mentoring teachers in Cabarrus and Rowan <br /> counties. <br /> Tucker Osborne, representing Senator Richard Hudson' s Office, read a <br /> portion of a letter from Senator Hudson. <br /> Elizabeth Edwards, representing Senator Thom Tillis' Office, read a <br /> portion of a Letter from Senator Tillis. Paul Newton, Senator-Elect, was also <br /> in attendance. <br /> Ms. Steen graciously accepted the award. <br /> Chairman Morris congratulated Ms. Steen, stating he had the privilege of <br /> being one of her students when she taught at Shady Brook Elementary School. <br /> (C-2) Human Resources - Recognition of Kathy M. Mowrer on Her Retirement from <br /> Cabarrus County Department of Human Services <br /> Ben Rose, Department of Human Services (DHS) , Director, recognized Kathy <br /> Mowrer on her retirement from her position as Social Work Program Administrator <br /> with DHS. He also highlighted a number of Ms. Mowrer' s accomplishments during <br /> her tenure with the county. <br /> Kathy Mowrer expressed appreciation of her years with Cabarrus County. <br /> Vice Chairman Honeycutt presented a service award to Ms. Mowrer in <br /> appreciation of her service and dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> (C-3) Human Resources - Recognition of Michael Penninger on His Retirement <br /> from Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services <br /> Alan Thompson, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) , Director, recognized <br /> Michael Penninger on his upcoming retirement from his position as EMT Master <br /> Paramedic. Mr. Thompson expressed appreciation for Mr. Penninger' s 30 years of <br /> dedicated service to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> Mr. Penninger expressed appreciation of his years with Cabarrus County. <br /> Vice Chairman Honeycutt presented a service award to Mr. Penninger in <br /> appreciation of his service and dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> (C-4) Human Services - Recognition of William H. Jamieson on His Retirement <br /> from Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services <br /> Alan Thompson, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) , Director, recognized <br /> William H. Jamieson on his upcoming retirement as EMS Relief Supervisor. He <br /> highlighted a number of Lieutenant Jameison's accomplishments during his tenure <br /> with the county and expressed appreciation for his 29 years of service and <br /> dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> Lieutenant Jamieson expressed appreciation of his years with Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> Vice Chairman Honeycutt presented a service award to Lieutenant Jamieson <br /> in appreciation of his service and dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> (C-5) Planning and Development - Construction Standards Recognition <br /> Kelly Sifford, Planning and Development, Director, presented a <br /> certificate of recognition to Michael Caudle for his outstanding achievement of <br /> obtaining a Level III Inspector Certification in all five <br /> construction trades. She advised it is a rare achievement, adding there are <br /> less than 2C0 people across the state who have reached this level of <br /> accomplishment. <br /> Mr. Caudle graciously accepted the Certificate of Recognition. <br /> Chairman Morris commended Mr. Caudle for his outstanding achievement. <br />
