February 20, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3043 <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Keith Conrade to the Adult Care Home <br /> Advisory Committee for an initial one-year term ending February 28, 2018. <br /> (H-2) Appointments - Agricultural Advisory Board <br /> The terms of appointment on the Agricultural Advisory Board for Wendy <br /> Austin-Sellers, Bob Blackwelder and Louis Suther expired January 31, 2017. All <br /> are willing to serve another term. Mr. Blackwelder has served on this Board <br /> since 2011 and Mr. Suther has served on this Board since 2006. An exception to <br /> the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for <br /> them. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Wendy Austin-Sellers, Bob <br /> Blackwelder and Louis Suther to the Agricultural Advisory Board for three-year <br /> terms expiring January 31, 2020; including exceptions to the "length of service" <br /> provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Blackwelder and Mr. Suther. <br /> (H-3) Appointments and Removals - Human Services Advisory Board <br /> A resignation has been received from Betty Babb that, due to other <br /> obligations, she is no longer able to serve on the Human Services Advisory <br /> Board. It is requested to remove her name from the roster and to appoint an <br /> individual to complete a three-year term ending December 31, 2019. <br /> In addition, Larry Bonds was appointed to the Human Services Advisory <br /> Board in January. He was recently appointed to serve on the Transportation <br /> Advisory Board and due to his schedule, is unable to participate in both <br /> boards. It is requested to remove his name from the roster. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Betty Babb from the Human Services <br /> Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Larry Bonds from the Human Services <br /> Advisory Board roster. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ann Holland and Rochelle Farewell to <br /> the Human Services Advisory Board for three-year terms ending December 31, 2019; <br /> including an exception to the "multiple boards" provision of the Appointment <br /> Policy Ms. Holland. <br /> (H-4) Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br /> An application to serve on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br /> has been received from Nathaniel Knust. He is a District Court Judge and is <br /> eligible to fill the vacant "Chief District Court Judge/Designee position on <br /> the Council. <br /> An application to serve on the JCPC has also been received from <br /> Cabarrus County School (CCS) student, Tiyahna Garrett to fill the "CCS Student <br /> under 18" position. <br /> At its January 18, 2017 meeting, the JCPC voted to recommend Judge Knust <br /> and Tiyahna Garrett be appointed to fill the vacant positions. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Nathaniel Knust to the Juvenile <br /> Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) as the "Chief District Court Judge/Designee" <br /> representative for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2017. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Tiyahna Garrett to the JCPC as the <br /> "CCS Student under 18" representative for a two-year term ending June 30, 2018. <br /> (H-5) Appointments and Removals - Nursing Home Community Advisory <br /> Kimberly Lane's term on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> ended December 31, 2016. She is not interested in serving another term. It is <br /> requested to remove her name from the roster. <br /> An application to serve on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> has been received from Evelyn Miller. She has been prequalified by the Regional <br />
