February 20, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3045 Vice Chairman Honeycutt announced the Senior Health and Wellness Expo will be held on March 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cabarrus Arena. She also spoke in support of the approved economic development projects and the job creation associated with them. Commissioner Shue commended the success of the welding program at Kannapolis City Schools, adding that nine seniors from A. L. Brown will graduate with their high school diplomas as well as their associates degree in welding. He also commented on the success of mobile library programming in Midland. Commissioner Poole updated Board members on the January MPO meeting, advising she was elected as Chair and Ryan Dayvault, Kannapolis Councilman, was elected as Vice Chair for the year. She also reported she is coordinating an update on current county projects from the NCDOT. (L) CLOSED SESSION (L-1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation and Economic Development UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss matters related to pending litigation and economic development as authorized by NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (3) and (4) . UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session.
