February 20, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3045 <br /> Vice Chairman Honeycutt announced the Senior Health and Wellness Expo <br /> will be held on March 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cabarrus Arena. <br /> She also spoke in support of the approved economic development projects and the <br /> job creation associated with them. <br /> Commissioner Shue commended the success of the welding program at <br /> Kannapolis City Schools, adding that nine seniors from A. L. Brown will graduate <br /> with their high school diplomas as well as their associates degree in welding. <br /> He also commented on the success of mobile library programming in Midland. <br /> Commissioner Poole updated Board members on the January MPO meeting, <br /> advising she was elected as Chair and Ryan Dayvault, Kannapolis Councilman, was <br /> elected as Vice Chair for the year. She also reported she is coordinating an <br /> update on current county projects from the NCDOT. <br /> (I-7) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees <br /> Applications are being accepted for the following County <br /> Boards/Committees: <br /> • Active Living and Parks Commission - 1 Expired Term (Eastern) <br /> • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br /> • Board of Equalization and Review - 3 Terms Expiring Soon <br /> • Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - 2 Vacant Positions <br /> (Kannapolis and Harrisburg) <br /> • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br /> • Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee - 1 Vacant Position <br /> (DHS/Designee/Disabled Adults) <br /> • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 2 Vacant Positions (Student Under <br /> 18, and Juvenile Defense Attorney) <br /> • Mt. Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - 1 Vacant Position <br /> (Alternate) <br /> • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br /> • Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Midland and Clergy) <br /> • Watershed Improvement Commission - 1 Term Expiring Soon <br /> • Youth Commission - 5 Vacant Positions <br /> Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br /> consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br /> (J) General Comments by Board Members <br /> Nione. <br /> (K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> t4one. <br /> (L) CLOSED SESSION <br /> (L-1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation and Economic Development <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss <br /> matters related to pending litigation and economic development as authorized by <br /> NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (3) and (4) . <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session. <br /> (M) ADJOURN <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m. <br /> Megan Sm' erk to the Board <br />
