May 15, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3155 <br /> Commission Advisor has provided a letter in regards to the Cabarrus County Youth <br /> Commission's recommendations for appointments and reappointments. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Julia Allen, Mckenzie Arstark, Kayla <br /> Bollenbecker, Keely Curry, Macie Eury, Anum Imran, John Clay Maquire, Abby <br /> Moose, Justen Morgan, Nicholas Walker and Joseph Muhonen from the Cabarrus <br /> County Youth Commission roster and thanked them for their service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jackson Lambert, Thomas Walter, Devin <br /> Mullins, Avery Calkins, Mariah-Sydney Steele and Stephan Anderson to the <br /> Cabarrus County Youth Commission for two-year terms ending June 30, 2019. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Noopur Parikh to the Cabarrus County <br /> Youth Commission for a two-year term ending June 30, 2019. <br /> (H-4) Appointment and Removals - Human Services Advisory Board <br /> A resignation has been received from William Nunes and due to other <br /> obligations, he is no longer able to serve on the Human Services Advisory Board. <br /> It is requested to remove his name from the roster and to appoint an individual <br /> to complete his unexpired term. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed William Nunes from the Human Services <br /> Advisory Board roster and thanked him for his service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Marie Dockery to the Human Services <br /> Advisory Board to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2019. <br /> (H-5) Appointments - Transportation Advisory Board <br /> An application to serve on the Transportation Advisory Board has been <br /> received from Anthony Hodges. Mr. Hodges is employed with the Department of <br /> Human Services as Program Administrator for Adult and Aging Services and is <br /> eligible to fill the vacant "Human Services Aging" position. He also resides <br /> in Rowan County. An exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment <br /> Policy will be needed for him. <br /> Diane Gridley "Human Services DSS", Charles Hendrix "Citizen <br /> Advocate/ADA", and James Polk "Citizen Advocate/Aging" serve on the <br /> Transportation Advisory Board and have terms ending June 30, 2017 . All three <br /> are willing to serve another term. An exception to the "residency" provision <br /> will be needed for Ms. Gridley. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Anthony Hodges to the Transportation <br /> Advisory Board as the "Human Services Aging" representative to complete an <br /> unexpired term ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the "residency" <br /> provision of the Appointment Policy. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Diane Gridley "Human Services DSS", <br /> Charles Hendrix "Citizen Advocate/ADA", and James Polk "Citizen Advocate/Aging" <br /> to the Transportation Advisory Board for three-year terms ending June 30, 2020; <br /> including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy <br /> for Ms. Gridley. <br /> (I) REPORTS <br /> (I-1) County Manager - Monthly New Development Report <br /> The Board received the monthly new development report for informational <br /> purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br /> (I-2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br /> The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report <br /> for April 2017 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary <br /> for April 2017 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action <br /> was required of the Board. <br />
