May 15, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3154 <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed FY18 <br /> Cabarrus County budget for Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. or as soon <br /> thereafter as persons may be heard. <br /> (H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br /> (H-1) Appointments and Removals - Active Living and parks Commission <br /> It is requested to remove Samantha Fisk from the Active Living and Parks <br /> Commission roster, as her place of residence no longer qualifies her for the <br /> "Eastern area" representative seat. <br /> A list of current applicants on file was provided to the Board. From the <br /> list, Ms. Patsy Brown qualifies for the "Eastern area" seat. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Samantha Fisk from the Active Living and <br /> Parks Commission roster and thanked her for her service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Patsy Brown to the Active Living and <br /> Parks Commission as the "Eastern" area representative to complete an unexpired <br /> term ending January 31, 2020. <br /> (H-2) Appointments - Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> An application has been received from Mr. Brent Rockett, who is eligible <br /> to fill the "Kannapolis Planning Area Representative" seat on the Cabarrus <br /> County Planning and Zoning Commission. The City of Kannapolis submitted a <br /> letter of recommendation in support of Mr. Rockett's appointment. Since the <br /> Kannapolis seat has an unexpired term ending in August, staff requests an <br /> appointment term of three years in addition to the unexpired term. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Brent Rockett as the "Kannapolis <br /> Planning Area Representative" to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission for an unexpired term ending August 31, 2017 and an additional three- <br /> year term ending August 31, 2020. <br /> (H-3) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Youth Commission <br /> Several youth commissioners need to be removed from the Cabarrus County <br /> Youth Commission roster due to high school graduation: <br /> Julia Allen Mount Pleasant High School <br /> Mckenzie Arstark At-large - First Assembly High School <br /> Kayla Bollenbecker Mount Pleasant High School <br /> Keely Curry Central Cabarrus High School <br /> Macie Eury A. L. Brown High School <br /> Anum Imran Hickory Ridge High School <br /> John Clay Maguire At-large - Cannon High School <br /> Abby Moose Northwest Cabarrus High School <br /> Justen Morgan A. L. Brown High School <br /> Nicholas Walker Cox Mill High School <br /> Also, Joseph Muhonen's term on the Cabarrus County Youth Commission ends <br /> June 30, 2017.
