June 19, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3213 <br /> Carol Schmidt is currently serving her first term as chair and Concord <br /> representative on the Board and has a term expiring June 30, 2017. Mrs. Schmidt <br /> would like to be reappointed to serve a second term. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Sue Frieze from the Library Board of <br /> Trustees roster and thanked her for her service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Carol Schmidt as the "Concord" <br /> representative to the Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term ending <br /> June 30, 2020. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board tabled the appointment of the Library Board of <br /> Trustees Kannapolis representative to the July 17, 2017 regular meeting. <br /> (H-8) Appointments and Removals - Mental Health Advisory Board <br /> Catherine Combs, currently serves on the Mental Health Advisory Board as <br /> the "NC DPS-Adult Probation and Department of Juvenile Justice representative <br /> has submitted her resignation due to retirement. It is requested to remove her <br /> from the roster. An application has been received from Mitzi Quinn, who is <br /> eligible to fill the NC DPS seat for an unexpired term. <br /> An application has also been received from Dr. Roderick Lilly, who is <br /> eligible to fill the "Local Psychologist" vacancy on the board. Dr. Lilly <br /> resides in Mecklenburg County. An exception to the "residency". provision of <br /> the Appointment Policy will be needed for him. <br /> Two "At-large" representatives, Gayle Alston (primary) and David Wall <br /> (secondary) need their responsibilities switched, and so it is requested to <br /> appoint Mr. Wall as the "At-large" (primary) with Ms. Alston serving as the <br /> "At-large" (secondary) . <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Catherine Combs from the Mental Health <br /> Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mitzi Quinn to the "NC DPS - Adult <br /> Probation and Department of Juvenile Justice" seat on the Mental Health Advisory <br /> Board to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2019. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Dr. Roderick Lilly to the "Local <br /> Psychologist" seat on the Mental Health Advisory Board for a two-year term <br /> ending December 31, 2019; including an exception to the "residency" provision <br /> of the Appointment Policy. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed David Wall to the Mental Health <br /> Advisory Board as an "At-large" (primary) as presented on the attached roster; <br /> including an exception to the "residency" and "service on multiple boards" <br /> provisions of the Appointment Policy. <br /> (H-9) Appointments and Removals - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br /> Dr. Tedra Claytor's term on the Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br /> as the "Member, Cabarrus County Medical Society" representative expires June <br /> 30, 2017. She is interested in serving another term. A letter of <br /> recommendation in this regard has been provided. <br /> Dr. Chad Weston's term on the Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br /> as the "NorthEast Medical Staff" representative also expires June 30, 2017. He <br /> has recently resigned from his position on the Authority. <br /> An application has been received from Dr. Lara Pons to serve on the <br /> Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County. She is a member of the CMC- <br /> NorthEast medical staff and is eligible to fill the position vacated by Dr. <br /> Weston. A letter of recommendation in this regard has been provided. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Dr. Chad Weston from the Public Health <br /> Authority of Cabarrus County roster and thanked him for his service. <br />
