June 19, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3212 <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Pamela Dubois (Seat #1) and Tim <br /> Hagler (Seat #2) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for three-year terms <br /> ending June 30, 2020. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board transferred Angie Brown to Seat #11 and <br /> transferred Jennifer Parsley to Seat #5 with their terms to remain expiring on <br /> June 30, 2018. <br /> (H-4) Appointments and Removals - Centralina Workforce Development Board <br /> The terms of appointment for Dr. Carol Spalding "Education" <br /> representative and Christopher Cote "Organized Labor" representative on the <br /> Centralina Workforce Development Board (CWDB) ends June 30, 2017. Dr. Spalding <br /> is willing to serve another term and a recommendation letter has been provided <br /> in that regard. Dr. Spalding resides in Rowan County. An exception to the <br /> "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for her. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Christopher Cote from the Centralina <br /> Workforce Development Board (CWDB) roster and thanked him for his many years of <br /> service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Dr. Carol Spalding to the CWDB as an <br /> "Education" representative for a two-year term ending June 30, 2019; including <br /> an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br /> There was brief discussion regarding qualified applicants for the vacant <br /> CWDB "Organized Labor" representative. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board tabled the appointment for the CWDB "Organized <br /> Labor" representative for the July 17, 2017 meeting. <br /> (H-5) Appointments - Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board <br /> Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski serve on the Harrisburg Fire Advisory <br /> Board and have terms expiring July 1, 2017. Both have indicated they are <br /> willing to be reappointed. If reappointed, Mr. Choinski will need an exception <br /> to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski to <br /> the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board for two-year terms ending July 1, 2019; <br /> including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment <br /> Policy for Mr. Choinski. <br /> (H-6) Appointments and Removals - Jury Commission <br /> The Clerk of Courts Office has requested an appointment for the Jury <br /> Commission. A letter concerning their request has been provided. <br /> New applications on file have been received for the Jury Commission. <br /> If the Board decides to appoint a new applicant from those on file, it should <br /> be noted that Ms. Phyllis Crump has served on the Jury Commission since -2001. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board removed Phyllis Crump from the Jury Commission <br /> roster and thanked her for her many years of service. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Morris, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board appointed Dianne Berry to the Jury Commission <br /> for a two-year term ending June 30, 2019. <br /> (H-7) Appointments and Removals - Library Board of Trustees <br /> Sue Frieze is currently serving her second term as a Kannapolis <br /> representative on the Library Board of Trustees with a term expiring June 30, <br /> 2017. Per the Library Board of Trustees' bylaws, she is not eligible for <br /> reappointment. <br />
