September 18, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3310 <br /> recommended by the County Attorney and to authorize the County Manager to <br /> execute the contract. <br /> Seeing a motion was already on the floor, Vice Chairman Honeycutt <br /> rescinded her previous MOTION and Commissioner Shue rescinded his second to the <br /> motion. <br /> Commissioner Shue then seconded the motion on the floor and the MOTION <br /> unanimously carried. <br /> (G-5) CCS - Request for use of Unspent Concord Middle and Harrisburg Elementary <br /> Roof Funds - $145,000 <br /> Mike Downs, County Manager reported two last minute requests from Cabarrus <br /> County Schools have been received. He stated the schools have experienced more <br /> growth than expected. Therefore, Patriots Elementary requested two mobile units <br /> totaling approximately $120,000. The second request is for the relocation of <br /> sewer lines at Cox Mill Elementary for $25, 000. He advised there are funds left <br /> from the roofing projects at Concord Middle School and Harrisburg Elementary <br /> School and requested the Boards' approval to use these funds to cover the costs <br /> of the two new projects. <br /> A discussion ensued. During discussion, Mr. Downs and Susan Fearrington, <br /> Finance Director responded to questions from the Board. <br /> UPON MOTION by Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the Cabarrus County School request for <br /> funding of two mobile units at Patriots Elementary, sewer line relocation at <br /> Cox Mill Elementary, and approved the related budget amendment and project <br /> ordinance. <br /> Date: 9/18/2017 Amount: $145,000 <br /> Dept. The project authorized is for the construction and renovations of <br /> Public Schools. Details of the projects are listed in section D. of <br /> this Project Ordinance. <br /> B. The officers of this unit are hereby directed to proceed with this <br /> capital project within the terms of the Generally Accepted Accounting <br /> Principles (GAAP) and the budget contained herein. <br /> a.
