UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jerry Shinn from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked him for his many years of service. (H -2) Appointments - Agricultural Advisory Board The term of appointment for Leslie Cook and Tommy Porter expire January 31, 2015. Both have agreed to serve an additional three -year term expiring January 31, 2018. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Leslie Cook and Tommy Porter to the Agricultural Advisory Board for three -year terms ending January 31, 2018. (H -3) Appointments - Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees The Cabarrus County Volunteer Fire Departments submit the following for reappointment as a Firemen's Relief Fund Trustee for a two -year term ending January 31, 2017: Kelly Whitley, Georgeville VFD; Tim Wooten, Harrisburg Fire Dept.; Darrell Page, Midland VFD; James Sells, Mount Pleasant Rural; Richard V. Bergeron, II, North East Cabarrus VFD; William L. Simmons, Rimer VFD. Five departments chose not to participate this year. These appointments are exempt from the County's Appointment Policy. Recommendations are submitted by each of the respective volunteer fire departments. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Kelly Whitley, Georgeville VFD; Tim Wooten, Harrisburg Fire Dept.; Darrell Page, Midland VFD; James Sells, Mount Pleasant Rural; Richard V. Bergeron, II, Forth East Cabarrus VFD; and William L. Simmons, Rimer VFD, to serve as Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees for two -year terms ending January 31, 2017. I) REPORTS (I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activit The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report for December 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary for December 2014 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I -2) EDC - December 2014 Monthly Summary Report The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) monthly report for the month of December as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I -3) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees None. (I -4) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees Applications are being accepted for the following County Boards /Committees: • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions • Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - 1 Vacant Position • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position • Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 1 Expired Term and 2 Vacant Positions • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 1 Vacant Position • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee -- 6 Vacant Positions • Transportation Advisory Board - 7 Vacant Positions • Youth Council - 7 Vacant Positions Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to consider participating on a Board or Committee.
