He has served on the committee since <br />December 2007. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Jerry Shinn from the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked him for his many years of <br />service. <br />(H -2) Appointments - Agricultural Advisory Board <br />The term of appointment for Leslie Cook and Tommy Porter expire January <br />31, 2015. Both have agreed to serve an additional three -year term expiring <br />January 31, 2018. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Leslie Cook and Tommy Porter to <br />the Agricultural Advisory Board for three -year terms ending January 31, 2018. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees <br />The Cabarrus County Volunteer Fire Departments submit the following for <br />reappointment as a Firemen's Relief Fund Trustee for a two -year term ending <br />January 31, 2017: Kelly Whitley, Georgeville VFD; Tim Wooten, Harrisburg <br />Fire Dept.; Darrell Page, Midland VFD; James Sells, Mount Pleasant Rural; <br />Richard V. Bergeron, II, North East Cabarrus VFD; William L. Simmons, Rimer <br />VFD. Five departments chose not to participate this year. <br />These appointments are exempt from the County's Appointment Policy. <br />Recommendations are submitted by each of the respective volunteer fire <br />departments. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Kelly Whitley, Georgeville <br />VFD; Tim Wooten, Harrisburg Fire Dept.; Darrell Page, Midland VFD; James <br />Sells, Mount Pleasant Rural; Richard V. Simmons, Rimer VFD, to serve as Firemen's Relief Fund <br />Trustees for two -year terms ending January 31, 2017. <br />I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activit <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for December 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for December 2014 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) EDC - December 2014 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of December as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -4) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 1 <br />Expired Term and 2 Vacant Positions <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee -- 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Youth Council - 7 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />
