January 31, 2015 (Board Retreat) Page 2277 <br />County Manager; and Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, provided input <br />and responded to questions from the Board. <br />Wrapping Up and Next Steps <br />Phil Boyd, Leading Government Associates (LGA), encouraged board members <br />to discuss next steps with a focus on the discussions that took place since <br />Cabarrus Summit 2015 and over the course of the retreat. <br />A lengthy discussion ensued. During discussion, board members suggested <br />various processes for continuing the efforts for collaborative strategic <br />planning and next steps for connecting with local municipalities. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to use their liaison positions on <br />municipal governing boards or councils to report outcomes from the Summit and <br />retreat, and to use that opportunity to invite them to further participation in <br />future collaborative quarterly meetings. <br />The commissioners reflected on the past three days and shared aspects <br />they liked and what they felt worked well. <br />Mike Downs, County Manager, thanked everyone for their participation. <br />Awn <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt, and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 3:26 p.m. <br />Megan it, Clerk to the Board <br />
