Special <br />pricing will be advertised. <br />(F -9) Planning and Development - Duke Weatherization Program <br />Duke Energy is offering a new program that is available to the Cabarrus <br />County Weatherization program through the North Carolina Community Action <br />Association. The Duke Energy Weatherization Program provides reimbursement <br />on work completed under the federally funded weatherization program. The <br />state monitoring agency, the North Carolina Department of Environment and <br />Natural Resources, is allowing this reimbursement on the condition that the <br />Duke reimbursement funds are placed back into the Weatherization program to <br />expand services. <br />This program will allow staff to provide additional funds to the health <br />and safety portion of the program which is underfunded by the state program. <br />Duke Energy is funding the program and a match is not required in order to <br />participate. Duke Energy and the North Carolina Community Action Association <br />have provided Cabarrus County with an agreement to participate in the <br />program. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Cabarrus County's participation in <br />the Duke Energy Weatherization Program and authorized staff to enter into the <br />agreement with Duke Energy and the North Carolina Community Action <br />Association. <br />(F -10) Tax Administration - Refund and Release Report - March 2015 <br />Release report contains taxpayers' names, bill numbers, valuations, tax <br />amounts, along with the justifications for releasing the valuation /tax <br />amounts for outstanding levies in accordance with N.C.G.S. 105 -3$1. Refund <br />report is a summary sheet which lists data from each refund request form, <br />along with the justification for the refunds to the taxpayers in accordance <br />with N.C.G.S. 105 -361. <br />Note: Due to the transition of motor vehicles onto the new North <br />Carolina Vehicle Tax System (NCVTS), motor vehicle - related refunds and <br />releases will begin to be displayed on the new report generated by NCVTS. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the March 2015 Refund - Release report, <br />along with the NCVTS Refund Report, as submitted and granted authority to the <br />Tax Collector to process the refunds and releases. The report is hereby <br />incorporated into the minutes by reference and is on file with the Clerk to <br />the Board. <br />
