Morris, Chairman <br />ATTEST: <br />lsl Megan Smit <br />Clerk to the Board <br />(F -2) DHS - 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program Resolution <br />Cabarrus County is now classified as a Large Urban Area. This new <br />classification requires Cabarrus County Transportation to use a new federal <br />funding stream through the 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program. The process <br />requires that Cabarrus County adopt a resolution authorizing Cabarrus County <br />Transportation to apply for these funds. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2015 -09 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF APPLICATIONS WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT <br />ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE AUTHORIZED BY 49 <br />D.S.C. CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 UNITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDERAL STATUTES <br />ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Transportation Administrator has been delegated <br />authority to award Federal financial assistance for a transportation project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the grant or cooperative agreement for Federal financial assistance <br />will impose certain obligations upon the Applicant, and may require the <br />Applicant to provide the local cost share of the project cost; and <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant has or will provide all annual certifications and <br />assurances to the Federal Transit Administration as required for the project; <br />NOW THEREFORE the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners hereby resolves: <br />1. That Cabarrus County is authorized to execute and file an application <br />for Federal assistance on behalf of Cabarrus County Transportation with <br />the Federal Transit Administration for Federal assistance as authorized <br />by 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53, Title 23, United States Code, or other Federal <br />statutes authorizing a project administered by the Federal Transit <br />Administration; and <br />2. That the Transportation Manager is authorized to execute and file with <br />its applications the annual certifications and assurances and other <br />documents the Federal Transit Administration requires before awarding a <br />Federal assistance grant or cooperative agreement; and <br />3. That the Transportation Manager is authorized to execute the grant and <br />cooperative agreements with the Federai Transit Administration on <br />behalf of Cabarrus County. <br />Adopted this the 18th day of May, 2015. <br />/sl Stephen M.
