June 15, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2477 <br />(I -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Vars.ous Boards /Committees <br />Vice Chairman Poole briefly spoke about the work on I -85. She <br />encouraged citizens to review information on the county website regarding the <br />upcoming changes. <br />(I -5) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees. <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee -- 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Board of Equalization and Review - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - 1 Vacant Position <br />(Kannapolis Area) <br />• Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions Community Oversight Board <br />- 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Centralina Workforce Development Board -- 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board (ETJ) - 1 Term Expiring Soon <br />• Jury Commission - 1 Term Expiring Soon <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 4 Terms Expiring Soon and 1 <br />Vacant Position <br />• Library Board of Trustees - 2 Terms Expiring Soon and 1 Vacant <br />Position (Midland Area) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County - 3 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee - 3 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Tourism Authority - 6 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 4 Terms Expiring Soon and 7 Vacant <br />Positions <br />• Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Youth Commission - 6 Terms Expiring Soon and 7 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Chairman Morris commended Cabarrus EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and <br />displayed a cover of JEMS (Journal of Emergency Medical Services) featuring a <br />picture of Cabarrus EMS staff on the cover. He also commented on a recent <br />tour of the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter. <br />Commissioner Mynatt commented on the possibility of funds being <br />withheld from the ,State and the potential impact. She also commented on a <br />recent visit to Reed's Gold Mine and spoke in support of the Governor's Bond <br />Proposal. <br />Vice Chairman Poole commented on a recent tour of S &D Coffee & Tea. <br />She encouraged local businesses to contact Board members if they wished to <br />share about their operations. <br />(K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OR CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />(L) CLOSED SE SSION <br />(L -1) Closed Session - Discussion of the Negotiation of Real Proper <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss the <br />negotiation of real property, as authorized by NCGS 143- 318.11(a)(5). <br />Jonathan Marshall was invited into the closed session. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue, the <br />Board moved to come out of closed session. <br />(M) ADJOURNED <br />
