July 20, 2015 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 2501 <br />Diane Gridley, Skip Kraft and Sharon Corpening all reside in Rowan <br />County. If appointed, an exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy will be needed for them. <br />Patricia Baker is no longer employed by the County. It is requested to <br />remove her name from the roster. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Patricia Baker from the Transportation <br />Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her many years of service. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Diane Gridley to the <br />Transportation Advisory Board to complete an unexpired term ending June 30, <br />2017 as a "Human Services" representative; including an exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Skip Kraft to the Transportation <br />Advisory Committee to fill the "Supported Employment' position for a three - <br />year term ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the "residency" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Sharon Corpening to the <br />Transportation Advisory Board to fill the 'Social Work (Blind)" position for <br />a three -year term ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ann Benfield to the Transportation <br />Advisory Board to fill the "Head Start" position for a three -year term ending <br />June 30, 2018. <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding filling additional vacancies. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for June 2015 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review <br />Summary for June 2015 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No <br />action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) EDC - June 2015 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of June as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -3) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />The Board received the monthly financial update for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board- <br />(T-4) Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County - 2nd Quarter <br />Partnership Status Report <br />The Board received the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus <br />County 2 11 d (quarter Partnership Status Report as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(1 -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />Commissioner Honeycutt reported the Senior Centers Advisory Council <br />issued a challenge for participants to join in on their rocking chair <br />fundraiser. <br />(I -5) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted fr) the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />
