<br />You are hereby authorized, empowered, and commanded to collect the 2015
<br />property taxes filed in the office of the Cabarrus County Assessor, and in
<br />the tax receipts herewith delivered to you, in the amounts and from the
<br />taxpayers likewise set forth. Such taxes are hereby declared to be a first
<br />lien upon all real property of the respective taxpayers in the County of
<br />Cabarrus, and this order shall be a full and sufficient authority to direct,
<br />require and enable you to levy on and sell any real or personal property of
<br />such taxpayer, for and on account thereof, in accordance with the law.

<br />(G -1) CCS - Funding Request for Addition of Classrooms to the New Odell 3 -5

<br />Tim Lowder, Cabarrus County Schools (CCS), Executive Director of
<br />Operations, presented a funding request for the addition of classrooms to the
<br />new Odell 3 -5 Elementary School. He stated the school will open at capacity
<br />and advised of savings if the additional classrooms are included while the
<br />school is under construction. He also responded to questions from the Board.
<br />Barry Shoemaker, CCS Board of Education Chair, was also in attendance.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the budget revision.

<br />Purpose: To appropriate funds for the addition of six classroom to three wings of Odell 3 -5 due
<br />to anticipated student population growth projections. The Schools also requested $81,500 in
<br />contingency. The Bac requested that all contingency remain in the Capital Reserve Fund until
<br />request were made by the Cabarrus County Schools for need of the funds. The $81,500 plus the
<br />transfer of the original amount of $6,600 will be placed in contingency funds together for this
<br />nrn�ent_

<br />(G -2) CCS - Purchase of Property for New Mount Pleasant Middle School
<br />Tim Lowder, Cabarrus County Schools (CCS), Executive Director of
<br />Operations, presented a request for the purchase of property located beside
<br />the present high school, to be used for the new Mount Pleasant Middle School.
<br />He stated the CGS Board of Education (BOE), approved the land purchase
<br />pending the Board of Commissioners' approval.
<br />Vice Chairman Poole commented on the benefits of having the middle
<br />school next to the high school.
<br />Vice Chairman Poole MOVED to approve the resolution authorizing the
<br />acquisition of property for Mount Pleasant Middle School and to authorize the
<br />County Manager and County Attorney to complete the purchase agreement for the
<br />property, placing the land title in the County's name; to authorize the
<br />Finance Director to transfer funds from the capital reserve fund to the
<br />appropriate capital projects fund for tracking purposes; and to approve the
<br />transfer of funds from Furniture and Fixtures to Architect as indicated in
<br />the related budget amendment. Commissioner Honeycutt seconded the motion.
