No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) EDC - August 2015 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of August as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -3) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />The Board received the monthly financial update for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />Commissioner Shue commented on a meeting at the Rob Wallace Park site. <br />Commissioner Mynatt briefly advised she had met with Mayor Eudy and <br />commended Mount Pleasant on their ideas for the community. <br />Commissioner Honeycutt provided an update on the Senior Centers <br />Advisory Council, adding that Cabarrus County is represented at the State <br />Finals Senior Games. <br />Chairman Morris updated the Board on activities and functions of the <br />Cabarrus County Education Foundation, Cabarrus County Fair, Daughters of the <br />Revolution, Harrisburg Town Council and Community Chats, and the Library <br />Board of Trustees. <br />(2 -5) Request for Applications for County Boards / Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees. <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 5 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory Board - 2 Vacant <br />Positions <br />• Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - I Vacant Position <br />(Kannapolis Area) <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 8 Terms Expiring Soon and 2 <br />Vacant Positions (Student Under 18) <br />• Library Board of Trustees - I Vacant Position (Midland Area) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 1 Expired Term and 4 Vacant <br />Posi tions <br />• Youth Commission - 6 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Mynatt commented on the White Owl Antique extravaganza in <br />Mount Pleasant. <br />Chairman Morris commented on Alzheimer's awareness and announced the <br />third Cabarrus Summit, a meeting with elected officials from Cabarrus <br />municipalities, will be held Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the <br />Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. <br />WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br />None. <br />(M) ADJOURNED <br />
