October 19, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2575 <br />Review Summary for September 2015 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) EDC - September 2015 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of September as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(2 -3) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />The Board received the monthly financial update for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -5) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 5 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory Board - 2 Vacant <br />Positions <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - I Vacant Position <br />• Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee - 3 Terms Expiring <br />Soon <br />• Human Services Advisory Board - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 2 Vacant Positions (Student <br />under 18) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Senior Centers Advisory Council - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 1 Expired Term and 3 Vacant <br />Positions <br />• Youth Commission - 6 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Mynatt commended. Human Services staff for exceeding the <br />annual goal for adoptions. <br />Commissioner Shue commended the Cabarrus Economic Development <br />Corporation (EDC) on the number of current projects listed on the monthly <br />report. <br />Chairman Morris commented on overall community participation, <br />acknowledging the turnout for the Pickle-ball Tournament and the Annual Crop <br />Walk. <br />(K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br />(L -1) Closed Session - Economic Development <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss <br />matters related to economic development as authorized by NCGS 143 - <br />318.11(a) (4) . <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Chairman Morris, the <br />Board moved to come out of closed session. <br />(M) ADJOURNED <br />
