December 14, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2617 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Kimberly Lane to the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a one -year term ending December 31, <br />2016. <br />-5) Anrvointments (Removals) - Senior Centers Advisory Center <br />Tom Kurzel and Ella Walters serve on the Senior Centers Advisory <br />Council and have terms ending December 31, 2015. According to the Council <br />bylaws, Mr. Kurzel has served the maximum number of terms on the Council. <br />Ella Walters is eligible and willing for reappointment. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Tom Kurzel from the Senior Centers <br />Advisory Council roster and thanked him for his many years of service. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Annette Swick to the Senior <br />Centers Advisory Council for a three -year term ending December 31, 2018. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ella Walters to the Senior Centers <br />Advisory Council for a three -year term ending December 31, 2018. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) Active Living and Pardus Department FY 14 -15 Annual Report <br />The Board received the Active Living and Parks Department FY 14 -15 <br />Annual Report for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for November 2015 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for November 2015 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) EDC - November 2015 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of November as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -5) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Active Living and Parks Commission - 1 Vacant Position and 3 Terms <br />Expiring Soon <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 3 Vacant Positions <br />• Agricultural Advisory Committee - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Human Services Advisory Board - 2 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 3 <br />Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 2 Vacant Positions (Student <br />under 18) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant positions <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 1 Expired Term and 1 Vacant Position <br />• Youth Commission - 6 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />
