February 17, 2014 (Regular Meeting) Page 1932 <br />Parks Commission as the "Harrisburg Area" representative to complete an <br />unexpired term ending January 31, 2015. <br />(H -2) Appointments (Removal) - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />The Regional Ombudsman requests the removal of Patricia Woodard's name <br />from the raster due to failure to complete the required orientation and <br />training. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board removed Patricia Woodard from <br />the Adult Care Horne Community Advisory Committee roster as requested by the <br />Regional Ombudsman. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />Due to resignations, the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Board of <br />Directors has two seats that need to be appointed. The nominating group and <br />their nominees are as follows: <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - Seat #8: Pritesh Nagarji <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - Seat #2: Tim Hagler <br />The Tourism Authority requests a residency exception for Pritesh <br />Nagarji. Mr. Nagarji is the owner and operator of the Comfort Suites at Exit <br />49 in Cabarrus County and represents an integral part of the Cabarrus County <br />tourism industry. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board removed Ken Broom and Jessica <br />Fickenscher from the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority roster and thanked <br />them for their service; appointed Pritesh Nagarji to Seat No. 8 "Hotelier" to <br />the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority to complete an unexpired term ending <br />June 30, 2015; including an exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy; and appointed Tim Hagler to Seat No. 2 "Tourism Activist" <br />to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority to complete an unexpired term ending <br />June 30, 2014. <br />(H -4) Appointments (Removals) -, Council for a Sustainable Local Economy <br />(CSLE) <br />The terms of appointment for members of the Council for a Sustainable <br />Local Economy ended December 31, 2013. Several members of the CSLE have <br />decided not to pursue reappointment. The lack of members seeking <br />reappointment leaves only one remaining member on the Council, which <br />prohibits this group from moving forward for the remainder of FY2014. There <br />was no additional funding for this project planned for the FY 2014 -15 budget, <br />based on the consensus of the Board of Commissioners. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jerry Weikle, Frances <br />Koster, Chris Pinto, Jim Fulton, Health Ritchie, Robert Higbee, Robin Pope, <br />Ronnie Long, Helen McInnis, Joshua Knipp and Debra Medlin from the Council <br />for a Sustainable Local Economy roster as requested and thanked them for <br />their service. By the same motion, the Board relieved the remaining member, <br />Robert Brown, from his appointment and duties to the Council for a <br />Sustainable Local Economy roster due to lack of membership and funding and <br />thanked him for his service. <br />(H -5) Appointments - Home and Community_ Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory <br />Committee <br />An application has been received from Anita Helms to serve on the Home <br />and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory Committee. At the January <br />21, 2014 meeting, the HCCBG Advisory Committee voted to recommend Ms. Helms <br />to fill one of the vacant "At- Large" positions. The Advisory Committee also <br />recommends Linda Miller be reappointed as the "Centralina Area Agency on <br />Aging Ex- Officio" representative. <br />Gail Linker's term on the HCCBG expired December 31, 2013. She does <br />not wish to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board removed Gail Linker from the <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee roster and thanked her <br />for her service; appointed Anita Helms "At- large" representative to the Home <br />
