But I try to solve problems. <br />I have a group of doctors who are intentionally harming their <br />patients in Rowan County to make them suffer more, and I can <br />prove it. <br />Chairman Poole requested Mr. Simmons conclude his comments. <br />You're fourth on the list. This problem is fourth. I just do <br />not have the time to... I can't take away from what I'm doing to <br />type up all this. But I will come in and give you an audio tape <br />of whatever happened. You can type up your own little statement. <br />And I have made this offer over a month ago in an email to Mr. <br />Koch. I'm still willing to do that. I just don't have time to <br />type it up. Please get a statement from her. Find out why. <br />Shasta Brantley, resident of 9684 Laurie Avenue NW in Concord, stated <br />she and her family moved here for a better quality of life and to Cabarrus <br />County specifically for the excellent public school systems and diversity. <br />She spoke regarding concerns for teacher salaries and excessive testing for <br />students. She urged the Board to support a state -level increase in teacher <br />salaries and a decrease in the amount of student testing. <br />With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Poole <br />closed that portion of the meeting. <br />(E) OLD BUSINESS <br />(E -1) Human Services - NC FAST Update <br />Ben Rose, Human Services Director and Trish Baker, Economic Services <br />Program Administrator, presented an update on the processing of food stamp <br />applications within the Economic Services Division. <br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Mr. Rose, Ms. Baker and Diane <br />Gridley, Income Maintenance Program Manager, responded to questions from the <br />Board. No action was taken. <br />(F) CONSENT AGENDA <br />(F -1) Cabarrus County Schools - Request for Royal Oaks Elementary School <br />Roof Project <br />Cabarrus County Schools is requesting to use the balance of one -time <br />project funds to replace the existing roof on the K°1 building at Royal Oaks <br />Elementary School. The roof is approximately 20 years old. The current <br />estimated project cost is $225,000.00. The schools are requesting the <br />remaining amount of one -time project funds, $194,071.00, to be utilized for <br />this project. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget <br />amendment: <br />Date:2 /17/2014 Amount:$194,071.00 <br />Dept. The County has had very short term leases with the dealership in <br />the past for special events, but the proposed one -year duration of this lease <br />
