You're fourth on my list of problems to solve. I'm a community activist, but I keep a low profile. But I try to solve problems. I have a group of doctors who are intentionally harming their patients in Rowan County to make them suffer more, and I can prove it. Chairman Poole requested Mr. Simmons conclude his comments. You're fourth on the list. This problem is fourth. I just do not have the time to... I can't take away from what I'm doing to type up all this. But I will come in and give you an audio tape of whatever happened. You can type up your own little statement. And I have made this offer over a month ago in an email to Mr. Koch. I'm still willing to do that. I just don't have time to type it up. Please get a statement from her. Find out why. Shasta Brantley, resident of 9684 Laurie Avenue NW in Concord, stated she and her family moved here for a better quality of life and to Cabarrus County specifically for the excellent public school systems and diversity. She spoke regarding concerns for teacher salaries and excessive testing for students. She urged the Board to support a state -level increase in teacher salaries and a decrease in the amount of student testing. With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Poole closed that portion of the meeting. (E) OLD BUSINESS (E -1) Human Services - NC FAST Update Ben Rose, Human Services Director and Trish Baker, Economic Services Program Administrator, presented an update on the processing of food stamp applications within the Economic Services Division. A discussion ensued. During discussion, Mr. Rose, Ms. Baker and Diane Gridley, Income Maintenance Program Manager, responded to questions from the Board. No action was taken. (F) CONSENT AGENDA (F -1) Cabarrus County Schools - Request for Royal Oaks Elementary School Roof Project Cabarrus County Schools is requesting to use the balance of one -time project funds to replace the existing roof on the K°1 building at Royal Oaks Elementary School. The roof is approximately 20 years old. The current estimated project cost is $225,000.00. The schools are requesting the remaining amount of one -time project funds, $194,071.00, to be utilized for this project. The auto dealership is located directly across the road from this site and would like this short term lease during a remodeling project at the dealership. The County has had very short term leases with the dealership in the past for special events, but the proposed one -year duration of this lease
