<br />Sheriff - School Resource Officer Grant for Cabarrus County Schools (CCS)-
<br />Continued
<br />Chairman Poole advised the Sheriff requested approval of the School
<br />Resource Officer Grant for Cabarrus County Schools tonight.
<br />A brief discussion ensued.
<br />UPON MOTION Of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Measmer
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board suspended its Rules of Procedures in order
<br />to take action on the item due to time constraints.
<br />Commissioner Morris MOVED to adopt the budget amendment and approve the
<br />addition of nine personnel to the Sheriff Department staff. Commissioner
<br />Oesterreich seconded the motion. Following a brief discussion, the MOTION
<br />unanimously carried.

<br />The Board discussed the placement of items on the Agenda.
<br />Richard Koch, County Attorney, recommended the Board schedule a Special
<br />Meeting once the date for the joint meeting with the school systems has been
<br />agreed upon.
<br />Chairman Poole suggested staff attempt to contact school personnel
<br />during the closed session and recess the meeting following the closed session
<br />if an agreeable date and time for the joint meeting can be obtained during
<br />that time.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the March 17, 2014 Agenda as
