May 19, 2024 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 2035 <br />I would like to especially thank Ann Wilson, Finance Director; <br />Paarth Mehta, Budget Analyst; Susan Fearrington, Assistant <br />Finance Director; Becky Crabtree, Accountant; Lundee Covington, <br />Human Resources Director; Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager; and <br />Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager for their hard work <br />throughout the last six months in preparing this budget. <br />Chairman Poole announced a public hearing on the proposed budget will <br />be held on June 16 She advised citizens are encouraged to attend and to <br />present written or oral comments. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris <br />and unanimously carried, the Board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed <br />FY 2015 Cabarrus County Budget for Monday, June 16, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. or as <br />soon thereafter as persons may be heard. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br />(H -1) Appointments and Removal - Adult Care Home Community Adviso <br />rnmmi tfaa <br />Paula Brandle's term of appointment on the Adult Care Home Community <br />Advisory Committee ends May 31st. She does not wish to serve another term. <br />The Regional Ombudsman requests Paula Brandle be removed from the Committee's <br />roster. <br />Joye Starnes' term of appointment on the Adult Care Home Community <br />Advisory Committee ended March 31st.. Ms. Starnes wishes to be reappointed. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Paula Brandle from the Adult Care <br />Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked her for her service. By <br />the same motion, the Board reappointed Joye Starnes to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending March 31, 2017. <br />(H -2) Appointments - Food Policy Council <br />Appointments are needed to fill two open positions on the Cabarrus <br />County Food Policy Council (FPC) . The FPC respectfully requests that the <br />Board of Commissioners appoint Emily McKay and Katie Warren to fill these <br />positions. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Emily McKay "Food Preparation" <br />and Katie Warren "Finance" to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms <br />ending December 31, 2016. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus Count <br />The "at- large" position on the Water and Sewer Authority is appointed <br />by the County with the advice of the other organizing political subdivisions <br />of the Authority. Mr. Robert "Bob" Ritchie has been recommended for <br />reappointment to the Water and Sewer Authority in the "at- large" position for <br />a three -year term ending June 30, 2017. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Robert "Bob" Ritchie as an `at- <br />large" representative to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County for <br />a three -year term ending June 30, 2017. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for April 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review <br />Summary for April 2014 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No <br />action was required of the Board.. <br />(I -2) EDC - March 2014 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of April as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />
