May 19, 2024 (Regular Meeting) Page 2035 I would like to especially thank Ann Wilson, Finance Director; Paarth Mehta, Budget Analyst; Susan Fearrington, Assistant Finance Director; Becky Crabtree, Accountant; Lundee Covington, Human Resources Director; Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager; and Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager for their hard work throughout the last six months in preparing this budget. Chairman Poole announced a public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on June 16 She advised citizens are encouraged to attend and to present written or oral comments. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris and unanimously carried, the Board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed FY 2015 Cabarrus County Budget for Monday, June 16, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as persons may be heard. (H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES (H -1) Appointments and Removal - Adult Care Home Community Adviso rnmmi tfaa Paula Brandle's term of appointment on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee ends May 31st. She does not wish to serve another term. The Regional Ombudsman requests Paula Brandle be removed from the Committee's roster. Joye Starnes' term of appointment on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee ended March 31st.. Ms. Starnes wishes to be reappointed. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris and unanimously carried, the Board removed Paula Brandle from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked her for her service. By the same motion, the Board reappointed Joye Starnes to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending March 31, 2017. (H -2) Appointments - Food Policy Council Appointments are needed to fill two open positions on the Cabarrus County Food Policy Council (FPC) . The FPC respectfully requests that the Board of Commissioners appoint Emily McKay and Katie Warren to fill these positions. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Emily McKay "Food Preparation" and Katie Warren "Finance" to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms ending December 31, 2016. (H -3) Appointments - Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus Count The "at- large" position on the Water and Sewer Authority is appointed by the County with the advice of the other organizing political subdivisions of the Authority. Mr. Robert "Bob" Ritchie has been recommended for reappointment to the Water and Sewer Authority in the "at- large" position for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017. UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Robert "Bob" Ritchie as an `at- large" representative to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017. (I) REPORTS (I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report for April 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary for April 2014 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board.. (I -2) EDC - March 2014 Monthly Summary Report The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) monthly report for the month of April as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board.
