June 16, 20I4 (Regular Meeting) Page 2100 <br />Dote: As a Charlotteian, an exception to the "residency" provision of <br />the Appointment Policy will be needed for Mr. Soporowski. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Pamela Dubois (Seat #1) to the <br />Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017; <br />and reappointed Scott Padgett (Seat #3), Tim Hagler (Seat #2), and Ray <br />Soporowski (Seat #10) to the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority for three -year <br />terms ending June 30, 2017; including an exception to the "residency" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Soporowski. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions Community <br />Oversight Board <br />An application for the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions <br />Community Oversight Board was received from Kristen Barbee. Her appointment <br />to fill the "Citizen /Stakeholder" position is recommended. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Kristen Barbee to the Cardinal <br />Innovations Healthcare Solutions Community Oversight Board for a three -year <br />term ending July 31, 2017 as the "Citizen /Stakeholder" representative. <br />(H -4) Appointments (Removals) - Centralina Workforce Development Board <br />The Centralina Workforce Development Board (CWDB) requests the <br />reappointment of Milton Chicas to his position as a "Private Sector <br />Representative ". An exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy will be needed for him. <br />The term of Anna Locklear, "Private Sector Representative ", ends on <br />June 30, 2014. She is unable to serve another term at this time. It is <br />requested that another eligible individual be appointed in her place to <br />maintain the private sector representation on the board. <br />Tracie Brunt and Tina Kent are both recommended by the Chamber and EDC <br />to fill the "Private Sector Representative" position being vacated by Anna <br />Locklear. Tracie Brunt resides in Huntersville. An exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy would be needed for her. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Morris and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Milton Chicas as a "Private Sector <br />Representative" to the Centralina Workforce Development Board for a two -year <br />term ending June 30, 2016, including an exception to the "residency" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy; removed Anna Locklear from the CWDB <br />roster and thanked her for her years of service; and appointed Tracie Brunt <br />to the Centralina Workforce Development Board as a "Private Sector <br />Representative" for a two -year term ending June 30, 2016; including an <br />exception to the "residency" provision of the appointment policy. <br />(H(H 5�ointments (Removals) - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />The terms of appointment for Megan Baumgardner "District <br />Attorney /Designee ", Edie Moss "At- large" and Michelle Wilson "At- large " end <br />June 30, 2014. At its May 21, 2014 meeting, the JCPC voted to recommend Ms. <br />Baumgardner, Ms. Moss and Ms. Wilson for reappointment. Each is willing to <br />serve another term. <br />The term of appointment for Rodney Harrison, II "Student under 18" ends <br />June 30, 2014. Mr. Harrison graduated from Cox Mill High School on June 13th <br />and is no longer eligible to fill that position. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner <br />Oesterreich and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Megan Baumgardner <br />"District Attorney/ Designee", Edie Moss "At- large" and Michelle Wilson "At- <br />large" to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for two -year terms ending <br />June 30, 2016; and removed Rodney Harriscn, II "Student under 18 " from the <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council roster. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Library Board of Trustees <br />Anita Talbott's term of appointment on the Library Board of Trustees <br />ends June 30, 2014. She has served on this Board since July 2008. <br />An appointment is needed to fill the "Concord" position being vacated <br />by Ms. Talbott. An application was received from Carol Schmidt. Ms. Schmidt <br />
