Vicki Proctor (Citizen Advocate /Retired), Daniel Payne (County <br />Schools) and Jodi Ramirez (Law Enforcement) are not seeking to serve another <br />term. It is requested to remove their names from the Transportation Advisory <br />Board roster. <br />Janet Purser's (Head Start) term of appointment ended June 30, 2013. <br />It is requested to remove her name from the Transportation Advisory Board <br />roster. <br />The term of appointment for Patricia Baker (Human Services) expired <br />June 30, 2014. She is willing to serve another term. Ms. Baker has served <br />on this Board since 2003. An exception to the "length of service" provision <br />of the Appointment Policy will be needed for her. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Vicki Proctor (Citizen <br />Advocate /Retired), Daniel Payne (County Schools) and Jodi Ramirez (Law <br />Enforcement) from the transportation Advisory Board roster and thanked them <br />for their service; removed Janet Purser (Head Start) from the Transportation <br />advisory Board roster; and reappointed Patricia Baker (Human Services) to the <br />Transportation Advisory Board for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017; <br />including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H -5) Appointments - Cabarrus County Youth Council <br />Ashton Brown (Jay M. Robinson), Kristina Jones (Mt. Pleasant) and <br />Alverez Nealy II (Concord) have submitted applications to the Cabarrus County <br />Youth Council and are recommended to be appointed for two -year terms ending <br />June 30, 2016. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ashton Brown (Jay M. Robinson), <br />Kristina Jones (Mount Pleasant) and Alverez Nealy, II (Concord) to the <br />Cabarrus County Youth Council for two -year terms ending June 30, 2016. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -]) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for May 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review <br />Summary for May 2014 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No <br />action was required of the Board. <br />(1 -2) County Manager - Update on Aging Strategic Plan <br />The Board received the update report on the Aging Strategic Plan for <br />informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the <br />Board. <br />(I -3) EDC - June 2014 Monthlv Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of June as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -4) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />Commissioner Morris provided an update on end -of -year numbers for the <br />libraries. He also commended the "Little Free Libraries" at the parks. <br />Chairman Poole advised of a 30 -day comment period opened by the State <br />Department of Transportation for individuals to comment on Cabarrus County <br />projects. She also updated on a new WSACC (Water and Sewer Authority of <br />Cabarrus County) project that added a turbine to their incinerator for the <br />generation of electricity. <br />
