Vice Chairman Burrage MOVED to table "Finance - General Fund Contribution to School Construction Fund - $3,920,112.00" to the August 4, 2014 work session. He advised his reason in tabling the item was that the Board is waiting on information from the school board. Commissioner Morris seconded the motion and the MOTION unanimously carried. H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES (H -1) Appointments and Removal -- Adult Care Home Community Adviso Committee The term of appointment for Cynthia Brooks ended May 31st. Ms. Brooks does not wish to serve another term. The Regional Ombudsman requests Mr. Brooks be removed from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster. An application was received for the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee from Diamond Staton- Williams. She has been prequalified from the Regional Ombudsman. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and unanimously carried, the Board removed Cynthia Brooks from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked her for her service. By the same motion, the Board appointed Diamond Staton- Williams to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee for an initial one -year term ending July 31, 2015. (H -2) Appointments - Board of Equalization and Review The terms of appointment for Bob Carruth and Jeff Carpenter expired June 30th. The Board of Equalization and Review requests the reappointment of Bob Carruth to a three -year term ending June 30, 2017 and the appointment of Keith Troutman, current Alternate, to fill the regular position being vacated by Mr. Carpenter. An appointment is needed to fill the alternate position being_ vacated by Mr. Troutman. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Morris, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jeff Carpenter from the Board of Equalization and Review roster and thanked him for his service; reappointed Bob Carruth to the Board of Equalization and Review for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017; and appointed Keith Troutman to the Board of Equalization and Review as a regular member for a three -year term ending June 30, 2017. UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Helen McInnis to the Board of Equalization and Review as an alternate member to complete an unexpired term ending June 30, 2015. (H -3) Appointments (Removals) - Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council The Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council accepted resignations from council members Sharon Hatley and Rosa Santos. At the June 16, 2014 meeting, the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council voted unanimously to recommend the appointment of O'Lynda Walker and Martha Kiker to fill the unexpired terms of Rosa Santos (unexpired term ending December 31, 2014) and Sharon Hatley (unexpired term ending December 31, 2016). UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and unanimously carried, the Board removed Rosa Santos and Sharon Hatley from the Cabarrus County senior Centers Advisory Council roster; appointed O'Lynda Walker to the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2014; and appointed Martha Kiker to the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2016. Commissioner Morris expressed concerns regarding membership of the Council. He stated there is no representation on the Council from Kannapolis or the northern part of the county.
