August 18, 2014 (Regular Meeting) <br />None. <br />Page 2148 <br />(I - 6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission - I Vacant Position <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 1 <br />Expired Term and 2 Vacant Positions <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 7 Terms Expiring Soon and 3 <br />Vacant Positions <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Youth Council - 7 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Poole reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Morris provided a brief update on the North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners annual meeting. He advised the percentage <br />of counties using wellness programs has increased over the past decade. <br />Commissioner Cesterreich responded with comments on health insurance <br />and wellness program costs. <br />Chairman Poole announced the Cabarrus County Fair will be held <br />September 5 -13 and listed dates with free or reduced entry fees.
