Page 2148 (I - 6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees Applications are being accepted for the following County Boards /Committees: • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions • Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission - I Vacant Position • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position • Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 1 Expired Term and 2 Vacant Positions • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 7 Terms Expiring Soon and 3 Vacant Positions • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions • Transportation Advisory Board - 6 Vacant Positions • Youth Council - 7 Vacant Positions Chairman Poole reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to consider participating on a Board or Committee. (J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS Commissioner Morris provided a brief update on the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners annual meeting. He advised the percentage of counties using wellness programs has increased over the past decade. Commissioner Cesterreich responded with comments on health insurance and wellness program costs. Chairman Poole announced the Cabarrus County Fair will be held September 5 -13 and listed dates with free or reduced entry fees. She concluded her comments by playing a short video of Commissioner Morris and herself taking the ice bucket challenge in support of ALS research. (K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY None. (L) CLOSED SESSION (L -1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation Note; This item was not needed and was removed from the Agenda.
