By the same motion, the Board appointed Janet Haywood to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee for a one -year term ending August 31, 2015. (H -2) Appointments - Cabarrus County Youth Council Hunter Moore (Mount Pleasant) and Taylor Freeze (Concord First Assembly) have submitted applications to the Cabarrus County Youth Council and are recommended to be appointed for two -year terms ending June 30, 2016. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Chairman Poole and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Hunter Moore (Mount Pleasant High School) and Taylor Freeze (At -large - Concord First Assembly Academy) to the Cabarrus County Youth Council for two -year terms ending June 30, 2016. (H -3) Appointments (Removals) - Planning and Zoning Commission Mr. Larry Ensley's term on the Planning and Zoning Commission as the Northwest Area Representative expires on August 31, 2014, Mr. Ensley is not eligible for reappointment and his position needs to be filled. Ms. Shannon Frye has agreed to move from her current At -Large position to fill this position since she is a resident of the Northwest Area and Mr. Chris Pinto would move to fill Ms. Frye's vacated At -large position. Mr. Aaron Ritchie currently represents the Eastern Area and Mr. James Litaker represents the Kannapolis Area. Their terms also expire on August 31, 2014. Mr. Ritchie and Mr. Litaker respectfully request reappointment to the Commission. Mr. Andrew Graham is currently one of three Alternates on the Commission. His term expires August 31, 2014. Mr. Graham respectfully requests reappointment to the Commission. Mr. Eugene Devine resigned from the Commission effective April 23, 2014. An application has been received from Mr. Jeff Griffin, a Harrisburg resident, who is recommended to fill the position vacated by Mr. Divine. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris and unanimously carried, the Board removed Larry Ensley from the Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission roster and thanked him for his many years of service; appointed Shannon Frye to the Northwest Area position for a three - year term ending August 31, 2017; appointed Chris Pinto to an At -large position to complete an unexpired term ending August 31, 2016; appointed Jeff Griffin to the Harrisburg position to complete an unexpired term ending August 31, 2016; and reappointed Aaron Ritchie to the Eastern Area position, James Litaker to the Kannapolis position and Andrew Graham to an Alternate position for three -year terms ending August 31, 2017. (H -4) Appointments (Removal) - Transportation Advisory Board Michelle Smith has resigned from her position on the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB), She has served on this Board since 2009. It is requested to remove her name from the TAB roster. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris and unanimously carried, the Board removed Michelle Smith from the Transportation Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her service. (I) REPORTS (I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Resort for July 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review Summary for July 2014 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I -2) EDC - July 2014 Monthly Summary Report The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) monthly report for the month of July as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. (I -5) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees
