Per the FY 2015 <br />budget, as of June 30, 2014, funding for the Council was eliminated. It is <br />requested to formally dissolve the Council for a Sustainable Economy by <br />adoption of the attached resolution. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Morris <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Resolution by the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners Dissolving the Council for a Sustainable Local <br />Economy. <br />Resolution No. 2014 -19 <br />RESOLUTION BY THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />DISSOLVING THE COUNCIL FOR A SUSTAINABLE LOCAL ECONOMY <br />PURSUANT TO NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTES § §153A -76 and 153A -77 <br />WHEREAS, the Council for a Sustainable Local Economy was created by the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners on September 20, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 17, 2014 the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners removed those members from the roster who did not wish to be <br />reappointed and relieved the remaining member from his duties; and <br />WHEREAS, funding for the Council for a Sustainable Local Economy ended <br />with the Fiscal Year 2014 budget on June 30, 2014 and was not renewed for <br />Fiscal Year 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners has stated its <br />intention to dissolve the Council for a Sustainable Local Economy; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes § §153A -76 and 153A -77 set forth the <br />authority of County Boards of Commissioners over commissions, boards and <br />agencies and authorize the Board to dissolve the Council for a Sustainable <br />Local Economy. <br />
