Smit <br />Clerk to the Board <br />Ordinance No. 2614 -24 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 50 OF <br />THE CABARRUS COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners is authorized from time <br />to time to amend the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances. <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners recognizes the need to <br />amend and add to the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances and hereby adopts the <br />following changes to the Code. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, after due consideration and in the best interest of its <br />citizens and property of the County, that: <br />Sec. 50 -4. - Explosives, Alcoholic beverages; drugs; dangerous substances. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into any County park the <br />following: <br />(1) Any mind - altering substances, whether man-made or found in <br />nature, including without limitation, any alcoholic beverage, <br />narcotic drug, hallucinogen, or any controlled substance, without a <br />valid physician's prescription. While in the park, persons should <br />conduct themselves in a proper and orderly manner and shall not <br />display, consume, or be under the influence of alcoholic beverages or <br />any such mind- altering substance without a valid physician's <br />prescription, used as directed by the physician. <br />(2) Any fireworks or explosive of any kind or nature unless used as <br />part of a park program by authorized county employees or their <br />agents. <br />Possession of weapons in parks is governed by Sec. 46 -4. <br />This Ordinance shall be effective upon adoption. <br />Adopted this 15 day of September, 2014. <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />
