No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review <br />Summary for December 2012 and the Cabarrus County Construction Standards <br />Dodge Report for December 2012 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) EDC - EDC Quarterly Report for October 1 - December 31, 2012 <br />The Board received the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Quarterly <br />Report for October 1 - December 31, 2012 for informational purposes as part <br />of the Agenda. <br />The report included the following information: <br />• North Carolina Economic Overview: December 2012 <br />• Staff Activities: October 1 - December 31, 2012 <br />• Missions, Convention Report: October - December, 2012 <br />• Current Active Projects As of 1/7/13 <br />• Economic Indicators <br />• Market Dynamics <br />• Local Contacts /Visits October - December 2012 <br />• Cabarrus Community Needs Assessment <br />• Executive Summary <br />• Prosperity for Greater Charlotte 2012 - 2017 <br />• Economic Trends <br />(I -4) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacancies <br />• Agricultural Advisory Board <br />• Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee - 8 Positions <br />With Expired /Expiring Terms and 1 Vacant Position <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Council for a Sustainable Local Economy <br />• Food Policy Council <br />• Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board - 2 Positions With Expired Terms <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 2 <br />Vacant Positions <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 1 Vacant Positions <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 5 Vacant Positions <br />• Parks Commission <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Board - 1 Position with Expired Term <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions <br />• Youth Council - 5 Vacant Positions with Expired /Expiring Terms <br />Chairman Poole reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(I -5) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Board /Committees <br />Commissioner Morris advised that the Library Board of Trustees reported <br />survey results indicating 980 of surveyed library patrons reported being <br />"extremely satisfied" or "very satisfied" with provided services. He also <br />commended the Cabarrus Partnership for Children for an exemplary audit report <br />in which no changes were requested of them. <br />GENERAL CONDENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Burrage stated he would not have voted for the Senior <br />Centers Advisory Council item at the work session had he received different <br />information at that time. He expressed his apologies to the senior citizens <br />of Cabarrus County. <br />
