February 18, 2013 (Regular Meeting) Page 1423 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the purchase of one (1) roll - <br />off truck with hoist and tarp from Advantage Truck Center utilizing the above <br />referenced piggyback bid. <br />(F -8) Library - LSTA EZ Collaboration and Innovation Grant Application <br />The Library would like to submit a grant application to the State <br />Library of North Carolina for a Collaboration and Innovation project. The <br />library will partner with public libraries, parks, community colleges and <br />other organizations in Cabarrus, Davidson, Rowan and Stanly Counties to host <br />a 4- county community read featuring "Mr. Penumbra's 24 -Hour Bookstore" by <br />Robin Sloan in spring 2014. If awarded, the grant will provide $16,311.00 of <br />the needed funds. A match of $1,813.00 will be provided from the library's <br />budget. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Library Director to submit <br />the aforementioned grant application and execute any related documentation.. <br />(F -9) LSTA Literacy and Lifelong Learning Project Grant Application <br />The Library would like to submit a grant application to the State <br />Library of North Carolina for a Literacy and Lifelong Learning Project. The <br />library will partner with the Cabarrus Literacy Council to offer computer and <br />technology classes for the public, literacy students and literacy tutors. If <br />awarded, the grant will provide $63,481.00 of the needed funds.
