March 18, 2013 (Regular Meeting) Page 1450 <br />WHEREAS, the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina (the `County ") is the owner <br />of that certain real property containing approximately 44.999 acres and more <br />specifically described in Deed Book 8757, page 318 of the Cabarrus County <br />Registry (the "Subject Property "), which Subject Property is situated near <br />George Liles Boulevard. <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation ( "NCDOT ") has <br />offered to purchase a right of way over approximately 0.800 acres of the <br />Subject Property at a purchase price of $24,300.00. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires to approve the proposed <br />conveyance of the right of way and purchase price and to authorize other <br />actions in connection therewith; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: <br />Section 1. The conveyance of the right of way of approximately 0.800 <br />acres over the Subject Property for a purchase price of $24,300.00 is hereby <br />approved. <br />Section 2. The Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Board of <br />Commissioners, the County Manager, any Deputy County Manager, the Finance <br />Director and the County Attorney are each hereby authorized to take any and <br />all such further action, including negotiation of any and all documents <br />related to the conveyance of the right of way and receipt of the purchase <br />price, and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the County all such <br />documents and any other documents and certificates as they may deem necessary <br />or advisable to carry out the intent of this resolution and to effect the <br />conveyance of the right of way and receipt of the purchase price. The Clerk <br />to the Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized to affix the seal of the <br />County to such documents and certificates as may be appropriate and to attest <br />the same and to execute and deliver the same as may be needed. <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br />adoption. <br />Thereupon, upon motion of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Commissioner <br />Burrage, the foregoing resolution entitled "RESOLUTION APPROVING CONVEYANCE <br />OF RIGHT OF WAY TO NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF RELATED DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN OTHER RELATED MATTERS" was adopted and passed by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Poole, White, Burrage, Measmer and Morris <br />NOES: None. <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />BY: /s/ Elizabeth F. Poole, Chairman <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Megan Smit <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board <br />(F -2) EMS - Approval of Ambulance Piggyback Purchase and Related Budget <br />Amendment <br />It is requested to purchase three (3) new type III ambulances by <br />piggybacking a bid awarded to Southeastern Specialty Vehicles, Inc. by Elmore <br />County, Idaho using budgeted Medicaid transportation funds. The total <br />purchase cost is $426,000.00 including taxes, tag and lettering. The new <br />ambulances will replace ones that have outlived their usefulness and will <br />comply with the County's vehicle replacement policy. The cost may not be <br />incurred until the next budget year, but we need to set it aside this year so <br />we can order them. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the piggyback of Elmore County's <br />bid to purchase three (3) new type III ambulances at a cost of $142,000.00 <br />each and adopted the following related budget amendment: <br />Date:3 /18/2013 Amount: $42 6, 000 <br />Dept.
