Poole, Chairman <br />Board of Commissioners <br />(F -3) County Manager - Cardinal Innovations (PBH) Sublease Termination and <br />Settlement Agreement <br />Cabarrus County owns a building at 457 Lake Concord Road and has a <br />sublease with Cardinal Innovations for the use of that building. This <br />agreement, which has been reviewed by counsel for Cardinal Innovations, would <br />terminate the lease and permit the sale of the building. The sublease <br />termination and settlement agreement is for the property located at 457 Lake <br />Concord Road. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Burrage, seconded by Vice Chairman White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Sublease Termination and <br />Settlement Agreement including authorization for the County Manager to <br />execute the Agreement subject to review by the County Attorney. <br />Date: 4/9/2013 Amount:$100,000 <br />Dept. This will place the fire departments on the same <br />system as the Sheriff's Office and EMS. It will achieve the data gathering <br />recommendation from the fire study, will increase safety and can help reduce <br />response times for our departments. Departments will be responsible for <br />purchasing the computer and yearly maintenance of the system. The funds will not be spent in the 2013 fiscal year. The <br />enclosed budget amendment records the transfer of library architect funds to <br />the Cannon Memorial Library Capital Projects Fund which is a multiyear fund. <br />The $9,740.00 architect fund balance will remain in the Capital Projects Fund <br />until the funds are needed for the Mt. Pleasant Library Expansion Project. <br />Private funds were donated to the County for the design of the Mt. Pleasant <br />Library Expansion Project in November of 2009 in the amount of $15,725.00. A <br />design has been prepared and paid for and the balance of the donation is <br />$9,740.00. An updated Capital Projects Ordinance is attached for approval <br />to incorporate the transfer of funds. <br />
