Sound System - 5.1 Surround Sound <br />$12,000.00 <br />$165,125.00 <br />Total <br />$165,125.00 <br />$165,125.00 <br />Note: All cost information provided by ASH ENTERPRISES INTERNATIONAL, INC. <br />A discussion ensued with Mr. Witke responding to a variety of questions <br />from the Board. <br />Vice Chairman White expressed support for the planetarium project to <br />move forward. <br />Commissioner Measmer also expressed support for the planetarium <br />project. <br />Discussion continued. <br />UPON MOTION Of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to suspend its Rules of Procedures <br />in order to take action on this item due to time constraints. <br />Vice Chairman White MOVED to request the school, in conjunction with <br />Len Witke, to submit the bid to determine the projected cost for the Central <br />Cabarrus High School Planetarium project. Commissioner Measmer seconded the <br />motion. <br />Following a brief discussion, the MOTION unanimously carried. <br />County Manager - Creation of the Human Services Agency <br />Mike Downs, County Manager, presented the following information related <br />to the creation of the Human Services Agency: <br />The Board of Commissioners <br />Agency, consisting of the <br />Transportation pursuant to <br />responsible for the provi: <br />programs and services under <br />Director. <br />wishes to create a Human Services <br />Departments of Social Services and <br />SB438. This new agency will be <br />;ion of all related human services <br />the direction of the Human Services <br />A public hearing will be needed to discuss the following per NCGS <br />153A- 77(a): <br />1. To consider abolishing the Department of Social Services <br />Board. <br />2. To consider creating a "Consolidated" Human Services <br />Agency, consisting of the Departments of Social Services <br />and Transportation. <br />3. To consider the Board of Commissioners assuming the <br />responsibilities of the associated governing board, the <br />Human Services Board. <br />Commissioner Measmer, Social Services Board liaison, advised the Social <br />Services Board voted three (3) to two (2) in opposition of these changes. He <br />also expressed his support for the creation of the Human Services Agency <br />including the provisions listed above. <br />County Manager - Resolution Supporting Turn Lanes at US 601 and Flowes Store <br />Road East <br />Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, presented an updated <br />resolution supporting turn lanes at US 601 and Flowes Store Road East.
