September 3, 2013 (Work Session) <br />• Sound System <br />• Dome <br />• Theater Lighting <br />• Seating <br />• Carpet <br />• School District Maintenance Items <br />o Choosing the Visual Presentation System(s) <br />• Visual System Option A - Advantages and <br />• Visual System Option B - Advantages and <br />m The Purchase Process: A Recommendation <br />a Additional Recommendations / Observations <br />Disadvantages <br />Disadvantages <br />Page 1725 <br />A discussion ensued with Mr. Witke and Blake Kiger, CCS Board of <br />Education Vice Chair, responding to a variety of questions from the Board. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to receive feedback from the school <br />principal to determine if there are projects with a higher priority than the <br />planetarium. <br />Discussion Items For Action at September 16, 2013 Meeting <br />County Manager - County /CVB Interlocal Agreement <br />Note: This item was moved to October. <br />Active Living and Parks - Development of Two Multi - Purpose Fields at Frank <br />T.i clrc V =TIr <br />Note: This item was moved to October. <br />Active Living and Parks - Matching Incentive Grant Recommendations <br />Londa Strong, Active Living and Parks Director, presented the following <br />information relating to matching incentive grant recommendations: <br />The Active Living and Parks Department has a Matching Incentive <br />Grant Program open to non - profit organizations for development of <br />recreational opportunities on lands owned by Cabarrus County, <br />Cabarrus County Schools or area municipalities. Land leased to <br />the County or Schools, for a minimum of 25 years, is also <br />eligible. The program provides for the maintenance or upgrade of <br />existing facilities as well as the purchase of land to be <br />developed for park and recreational pursuits. <br />The grant requests were submitted to the Active Living and Parks <br />Commission for review and recommendation to the Board of <br />Commissioners. The Property Committee met after hearing the <br />presentations to the ALP's Commission and made a recommendation <br />to the full ALP's Commission at their August 22, 2013 meeting. <br />There were $72,132.00 in requests for the budgeted $50,000.00 per <br />the FY2013 -14 Budget.
