January 17, 2012 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 943 <br />(G -6) County Manager - Discuss Options for the Old Bethel School Property <br />In response to questions raised during the Informal Public Comments <br />portion of the meeting, Chairman Poole announced information relating to the <br />old Bethel School property is available on the website <br />( www.cabarruscounty.us ). <br />With regard to the old Bethel School property, Mike Downs, County <br />Manager, advised staff is researching another option for the Board to <br />consider and recommended this item be tabled to the February 6, 2012 work <br />session. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and <br />unanimously carried, the Board tabled "Discuss Options for the Old Bethel <br />School Property" to the February 6, 2012 work session. <br />(G -7) Planning and Developmen - Trin'i Cabarrus First Campaign and Budget <br />Amendment <br />Lori Clay, Council for a Sustainable Local Economy (CSLE) Chair, <br />presented an update on CSLE accomplishments since its inception and addressed <br />the "Buy Local" campaign. The "Buy Local" campaign is the first initiative <br />of the Council and is designed to promote public awareness of local <br />businesses and services. The intent of the campaign is to create a business <br />directory on -line to help customers find local businesses and services to <br />meet their needs. It is anticipated that the creation of this directory will <br />cost $4,000.00 which is to be generated through a $20.00 fee for <br />participating businesses and services. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the marketing campaign and the <br />following budget amendment: <br />Date:12 /20/2011 Amount:$4,053 <br />Dept.
