March 19, 2012 (Regular Meeting) Page 1003 <br />e Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee (5 Vacancies) <br />e Youth Council - Cox Mill High School <br />Chairman Poole asked citizens to consider participating on a Board or <br />Committee. <br />(I -2) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve- as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Board /Committees <br />None. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner White announced the Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA) has <br />become the first health department to use the Bright Futures, American <br />Pediatric Association curriculum in electronic health record form and the <br />first in the United States to deploy it. CHA also sold configuration files <br />for electronic health record and agreed to assist the North Carolina Division <br />of Public Health to configure the Public Health H.I.S. System to adhere to <br />Bright Futures. He also announced the dedication ceremony for the CHA new <br />facility is Friday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. <br />Commissioner White commended Donna Carpenter and staff at the <br />Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) for their efforts in promoting tourism <br />in North Carolina, stating hotel occupancy in the County is up 8.5 percent <br />from last year. <br />Commissioner Carruth advised he was able to participate in spot checks <br />with the Soil and Water Conservation District. He also announced a Pond <br />Clinic will be held on Saturday, March 31, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Hodges <br />Family Farm at 600 Cox Mill Road. <br />K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br />(L -1) Closed Session - Economic Development and Personnel Matters <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session as authorized <br />by NCGS 143- 318.11 (a)(4) and (6). Members of the Economic Development <br />Corporation (EDC) were invited into the closed session. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner White and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session. <br />1M% =rIvao <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage, <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting recessed at 8:40 p.m., until Friday, <br />March 30, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. <br />Kay ne tt, e o the Board <br />
