There was also discussion on <br />adopting the budget ordinance in a format similar to Mecklenburg's which <br />restricts the school systems' ability to shift monies around. Further, both <br />school systems will be asked to provide the budget materials in the format <br />requested by the Finance Department. Chairman Poole asked Board members to <br />review the list of capital requests for both school systems and the community <br />college for consideration at a future meeting. <br />School Nurse Program <br />In response to an inquiry from Mike Downs, County Manager, regarding <br />the use of the Board's contingency monies to fund the school nurse program <br />through the Cabarrus Health Alliance, all Board members responded in the <br />affirmative. <br />N.C. Forestry Service - Continued <br />Based on the Board's earlier discussion, Mike Downs, County Manager, <br />confirmed that the funding for the truck will be addressed in next year's <br />budget and that the Forester is to present the consolidation concept to <br />stakeholders in the near future. <br />Community Care of Southern Piedmont (Community Care Plan) <br />In response to an inquiry from the County Manager, Board members <br />generally expressed support for the Manager's recommended budget for FY 12 -13 <br />($0.00) for the Community Care of Southern Piedmont. <br />"Birthday or Floating Holiday" for County Employees <br />In response to an inquiry form the County Manager, the Board expressed <br />support for implementing the "birthday or floating holiday" for county <br />employees as set forth in the FY 13 budget message. A short discussion <br />ensued. <br />Economic Development Corporation (EDC) - Continued <br />The Board agreed to discuss the additional $50,000.00 for the EDC on <br />Thursday, May 31, 2012. <br />School Capital Fundin <br />Chairman Poole asked Board members again to review the list of capital <br />requests for both school systems and the community college for consideration <br />at the next meeting. <br />Recess of Meeting <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting recessed at 6:18 p.m. until Thursday, May <br />31, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center. <br />Kay nut, rk to the Board <br />
