May 31, 2012 (Recessed Meeting) <br />Discussion - Tax Rates for Fire Districts <br />Page 1107 <br />The tax rates were generally discussed by the Board. All members <br />expressed support for the requested tax rates and expressed appreciation to <br />the volunteer fire departments for their service. <br />Capital Projects - Discussion <br />Chairman Poole reviewed a list of additional capital requests from <br />Cabarrus County Schools, Kannapolis City Schools and Rowan Cabarrus Community <br />College (RCCC). Commissioner Carruth expressed support for providing an <br />additional $380,000.00 for the renovation of Building 3000. <br />Chairman Poole addressed the need for more space at the Senior Center <br />and proposed the front of the building be expanded, if possible. The Board <br />was supportive of exploring the feasibility of expanding the Senior Center. <br />Board members also identified several capital projects including <br />technology items for consideration at a later date, using one -time monies. <br />No action was taken. <br />Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. <br />Kay oney tt, C1 k to the Board <br />
