Pleasant and Harrisburg and the unincorporated areas of Cabarrus <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, the conditions of the franchise agreement have been changed or <br />modified by mutual consent to include the following: <br />1. Republic Services, Inc. will provide curbside residential refuse and <br />bulky waste collection and disposal service to all residential <br />customers requesting such service for a fee of $14.00 per month per <br />home (includes any fuel recovery fee). Fees are to be paid by the <br />subscriber. Fees are subject to change per franchise terms. <br />2. Republic Services, Inc. will provide residential (every other week) <br />single stream curbside collection (cart provided by Republic <br />Services, Inc.) for a fee of $3.04 per month per home. Fees are to <br />be paid by the subscriber. Fees are subject to change per franchise <br />terms. <br />3. Republic Services, Inc. will accept a maximum of 5 cubic yards (an <br />increase from 2 cubic yards) of bulky waste per resident per pickup. <br />No additional fee for this increase. <br />4. Republic Services, Inc. will provide the future option of <br />residential (every other week) yard waste collection (for a fee of <br />$1.00 per month per home) in the unincorporated areas of the county. <br />Fees will be paid by subscriber. Fees are subject to change per <br />franchise terms. <br />S. Republic Services, Inc. will provide a recycling return for <br />recyclables collected at residential locations within unincorporated <br />areas of the county. Recycling return is to be paid directly to <br />county. Recycling return is estimated at $10 per ton of <br />recyclables. Recycling return is subject to change per franchise <br />terms. <br />6. Republic Services, Inc. will lower disposal rate by 3% upon written <br />confirmation of franchise agreement extension. Republic Services <br />Inc. will also lower the disposal rate an additional 20 at the start <br />of the new extension term on January 1, 2013. <br />7. Republic Services, Inc. rate adjustment will be calculated at 750 of <br />the CPI total percent change. <br />WHEREAS, the franchise agreement expires December 31, 2012 and may be <br />renewed for one successive period of five years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Cabarrus that the Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Franchise <br />Agreement with Republic Services, Inc. is renewed for five years, including <br />the change in conditions herein described, on or before January 1, 2013 <br />through December 31, 2017. <br />Adopted this the 16` day of July, 2012. <br />/s/ Elizabeth F. Ms. Monte and Dr. Vasudevan do <br />not desire reappointment. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Sandra Miller and Marie <br />Ramseur to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee for three -year <br />
