July 16, 2012 (Regular Meeting) Page 1174 <br />terms ending July 31, 2015; by the same motion, the Board removed Lacee Monte <br />and Dr. Vasudevan from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />roster. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission <br />The terms of appointments for the following members of the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission end August 31, 2012: Richard Price <br />(Midland) , Todd Berg (Concord) , Brenda E. Cook (At- Large) and Ted Kluttz <br />(Alternate). <br />The Planning and Zoning Manager recommends the reappointment of Rick <br />Price to fill the seat for the Midland planning area. He is eligible to <br />serve another term and is willing to do so. <br />Todd Berg has served since 2005 and is not <br />Planning and Zoning Manager recommends a current <br />the seat vacated by Mr. Berg. Ms. Blakeney also serves on the Food Policy <br />Council and to appoint her will require an exception to the "service on <br />multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />Further, it is recommended that Andrew Deal, a resident of the Central <br />area, be appointed as an "Alternate" to fill the seat vacated by Ms. <br />Blakeney. <br />Finally, it is recommended that Jonathan Rett, a resident of the <br />Concord area, be appointed to fill the "Alternate" position vacated by Ted <br />Kluttz. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Rick Price to the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission, representing the Midland planning <br />area, for a three -year term ending August 31, 2015. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ted Kluttz to the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission, representing the Concord planning <br />area, for a three -year term ending August 31, 2015. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mary Blakeney to the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission as an "At- Large" representative, for a <br />three -year term ending August 31, 2015, including an exception to the <br />"service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Andrew Deal to the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission as an "Alternate" to complete an <br />unexpired term ending August 31, 2014. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jonathan Rett to the Cabarrus County <br />Planning and Zoning Commission as an "Alternate" for a three -year term ending <br />August 31, 2015. <br />(H -4) Appointments - Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board (ETJ) <br />The term of appointment for Lloyd Quay, Jr. on the Harrisburg Planning <br />and Zoning Board ended June 30, 2012. Mr. Quay has served as the "county <br />ETJ°` appointee since 1997 and is to be commended for his many years of <br />service. <br />There are no other qualified applications on file for this position. <br />Fortunately, Mr. Quay is willing to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Lloyd L. Quay, Jr. to the <br />Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board for a three -year term ending June 30, <br />2015 and commended Mr. Quay for his many years of dedicated service. <br />
