Pleasant) on the Library Board of Trustees end July 31, 2012. <br />Both desire reappointment and are eligible for consideration. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Brenda Trott (Kannapolis) and <br />Martha Dobson (Mt. Pleasant) to the Library Board of Trustees for three -year <br />terms ending July 31, 2015. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Transportation Advisory Board <br />The terms of appointments for the following members of the <br />Transportation Advisory Board ended June 30, 2012: Cindy Hall (Aging), James <br />Polk (DSS retiree), Kathy Kitts (Midland) Michelle Smith (Supported <br />Employment), Jennifer Cagiano (Mental Health [term ended 06/11]) and Reverend <br />Ronald Bushey (local clergy) . Exceptions to the Appointment Policy for <br />"years of service" are requested for Cindy Hall and Kathy Kitts. The mental <br />health position has been vacant for some time. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Cindy Hall (Human Services), <br />Kathy Kitts (Midland) and Michelle Smith (Supported Employment) to the <br />Transportation Advisory Board for three -year terms ending June 30, 2015, <br />including exceptions to the Appointment Policy for Ms. Hall and Ms. Kitts. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Helen Leak (Mental Health) and <br />Kathy Mowrer (Human Services) to the Transportation Advisory Board for three - <br />year terms ending June 30, 2015, including an exception to the "multiple <br />service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Ms. Leak. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Reverend Ronald Bushey (local <br />clergy) from the roster. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) EDC - Quarterly Report Ending June 30, 2012 <br />The Board received the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Quarterly <br />Report Ending June 30, 2012 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. <br />The report included the following information: <br />• North Carolina Economic Overview: May 2011 <br />• National Economic Update <br />• State Performance Metrics <br />• Staff Activities: April 1 - June 30, 2012 <br />• Missions, Convention Report: April - June, 2012 <br />• Project Activity 2011 vs 2012 <br />• Economic Indicators <br />• Cabarrus County Area Wage Rates, 2012 <br />(I -2) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Board /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -3) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 3 Vacancies <br />• Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee - 8 Positions <br />With Expired /Expiring Terms and 1 Vacant Position <br />• Centralina Workforce Development Board - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board - 2 Positions With Expired /Expiring <br />Terms <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 2 <br />Vacant Positions <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 1 Vacant Position <br />
