Central Park - several counties joined to create a "central <br />park" includes zoo, lakes, etc; <br />• Development of entrepreneurs <br />• Business council - diversity (Hispanic businesses popping up.) <br />• Homelessness - reduction <br />• Road network - how are consolidated road plans established <br />• Disappearance of local media - no way to discuss local issues; <br />partner with WTVI <br />• Cookie cutter developments <br />• Natural Heritage inventory - development agreements <br />• Decaying industrial properties <br />• Philip Morris property <br />• Pre -K preschool programs - impact on programs later in life <br />• Midland and Mt. Pleasant - access to I -85 <br />• Historic road routes - preserve or commemorate those roads <br />• Disappearing landmarks <br />• Long -term success of Volunteer Fire Departments <br />Afterwards, each Board member grouped their items with similar or <br />related items,. whenever possible. <br />Dinner Break <br />Dinner was served from 6:25 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. <br />Specific Outcomes <br />Vice Chairman Poole identified the following items as "specific <br />outcomes ": <br />• Meet with each city council within the next two (2) years <br />• Small Mart - develop an economic development initiative from the <br />County's prospective <br />• Continue land use planning effort <br />Commissioner Carruth identified the following items as "specific <br />outcomes ": <br />• 5 -year plan - set a maximum tax <br />• Historical and natural site protection <br />• Foster east /west relations <br />
