June 20, 2011 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 523 <br />Appointments or reappointments are needed for the following JCPC <br />positions. county manager's designee, Chief District Court Judge, Juvenile <br />Defense Attorney, Area Mental Health Director /Designee and representative of <br />the United Way or other non - profit. <br />It is requested that the following names be removed from the JCPC <br />roster: Tifphanie Rhymes (member of faith community) and Maren Hamby and <br />Jenna Hampton (students under 18 years of age). <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Erica Nesbitt (county manager's <br />designee) to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) to complete an <br />unexpired term ending September 30, 2013, including an exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Judge- Cloninger (Chief <br />District Court Judge) , John Lewis (Juvenile Defense Attorney and Carolyn <br />Carpenter (United Way representative or other non - profit) to the JCPC for <br />two -year terms ending June 30, 2013; appointed Helen Leak (Area Mental <br />Health) to the JCPC to complete an unexpired term ending September 30, 2012; <br />and removed the following names from the JCPC roster: Tifphanie Rhymes, <br />Maren Hamby and Jenna Hampton. <br />(H -5) Appointments - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br />Two (2) appointments are needed fc <br />The term of appointment for Dr. Allan <br />County Medical Society and Dr. Robert <br />medical staff, ends June 30. Dr. Silver <br />and is not seeking reappointment. <br />reappointment and has served since 2003. <br />r the Public Health Authority (PHA). <br />Krusell, representing the Cabarrus <br />Silver, representing CMC NorthEast <br />has served six (6) consecutive years <br />However, Dr. Krusell is seeking <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Dr. Chad Weston to the Public <br />Health Authority of Cabarrus County representing CMC NorthEast medical staff <br />for a three -year term ending June 30, 2014 and reappointed Dr. Allan Krusell <br />to the Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County representing the Cabarrus <br />County Medical Society for a three -year term ending June 30, 2014, including <br />an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />Chairman White noted the number of years Dr. Krusell has served on the <br />PHA and advised when his newly appointed term is complete, it will be time <br />for a new representative on the Committee due to the "length of service" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Region F Aqinq Advisory Committee <br />The term of appointment for Anita Helms expires June 30, 2011. She is <br />currently serving as an alternate and is eligible for reappointment for a one <br />year term. <br />Ted Drain and Carol Vogt have both completed their second terms and are <br />eligible to be reappointed for a third term. <br />Ms. Helms and Mr. Drain also serve on the Department of Aging Advisory <br />Board. An exception to the "service on multiple boards" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy will be needed for them. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Anita Helms to the Region F <br />Advisory Committee as an "alternate" for a one -year term ending June 30, <br />2012, including an exception to the "service on multiple boards" provision of <br />the Appointment Policy. By the same vote, the Board reappointed Carol Vogt <br />and Ted Drain to the Region F Aging Advisory Committee for two -year terms <br />ending June 30, 2013, including an exception to the "service on multiple <br />boards" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Drain. <br />(H -7) Appointments - Social Services Board <br />The term of Betty Jean Prewitt ends June 30th. It is recommended that <br />A.L. Fleming be appointed to replace Ms. Prewitt. <br />Mr. Fleming currently serves on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br />Committee; therefore, an exception to the "multiple service provision" of the <br />
