<br />(F -7) Parks Department — Request to Use Contingency Funds for Tree
<br />Re^olacement at Frank Liske Park and Related Budget Amendment
<br />Eighty -one (81) trees were removed at Frank Liske Park during the
<br />construction and installation of the Monroe gas line project. A settlement
<br />of $11,075.00 was reached between Cabarrus County and Monroe during an
<br />arbitration meeting held on July 20, 2011. The BOC accepted the funds on
<br />August 15, 2011 and placed them in its contingency line item. It is
<br />requested that these funds be used to purchase replacement trees for the
<br />Park. Optimal planting time is November and December.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment:

<br />(F -8) Sheri £f - Approval o_= Piggyback Bid for Purchase o_= Police Interceptor
<br />Vehicles
<br />The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office is requesting to piggyback the
<br />purchase of Police Interceptor Vehicles' bid awarded by the City of Concord,
<br />North Carolina to Hilbish Motor Company in August 2011. The Cabarrus County
<br />Sheriff's Office is planning to purchase ten (10) vehicles priced from this
<br />contract with monies set aside in FY 2012 budget. The notice, "Awarding a
<br />Contract to Hilbish Motor Company for Police Interceptor Vehicles by
<br />Piggybacking a Bid Awarded Previously by City of Concord, North Carolina" was
<br />posted to the County website on October 27, 2011.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the piggyback of a bid awarded by
<br />the City of Concord in August 2011 to Hilbish Motor Company, Inc., for the
<br />purchase of ten (10) Ford police interceptor vehicles.
<br />(F -9) Sheriff's Department - Request to Award Service Weapon and Badge to
<br />Captain Phillip Patterson Upon Retirement
<br />Captain Phillip Patterson will be retiring effective, December 30th,
<br />and is requesting his service weapon and badge pursuant to N.C. General
<br />Statute 20- 187.2. The requested weapon is a Sig Sauer P226, 40 caliber,
<br />serial number U684379.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board, in accordance with GS 20- 187.2, declared
<br />surplus and awarded for the price of $1.00, the service weapon (Sig Sauer
<br />P226, 40 caliber, Serial Number U684379) and badge to Captain Phillip J.
<br />Patterson upon his retirement from the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department
<br />on December 30, 2011.
<br />(F -10) Sheriff's Department - Request to Award Service Weapon and Badge to
<br />Deputy Frank LaRoche Upon Retirement
<br />Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 20- 187.2, the Sheriff's Department is
<br />requesting to award Deputy Frank LaRoche his badge and his service weapon
<br />(Sig Sauer, 40 caliber, Serial Number U684340) upon his retirement scheduled
<br />for November 15, 2011.
